Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon in Brenton. The approach from the N2 provides some stunning views over the bay and a visit is worth it just for these. The beach at the end of the road is among the best in the world. Long...More

Yes, you should book for more than a single night. You should get a sea-facing room. You should get a picnic basket, enjoy the sunset and climb down to the private beach. And then enjoy a great breakfast the next morning. That is all.

We only stayed a short time to observe and photograph the sunset. Lovely long beach, plenty of seats on the cliff and downhill stepped access. Great on a nice day and only a short picturesque drive from Knysna.

Wow what a beautiful beach - immaculately clean, quite a number of people yet we felt totally private. Longest back I've ever walked on. Out of this world

A really lovely quiet beach and one can walk along it for an hour and still not reach the end. A few dog walkers and runners but very peaceful.

The sheer drama of the cliffs which drop to the white beaches, the long stretch of white sand and the ocean carved rock structures are just too beautiful to imagine. a must visit.

nice and quiet beautiful beach arena next to Knysna, good accessible road to the small spot. Good café to have drink or a snack

We felt the best part was not the "end" where the beach and café are but stop before this and park facing the sea by the information boards. Just sit and watch the sea break on the rocks, beautiful.

This is a blue flag beach. Natural and unspoilt. Life guards on duty. Clean and non polluted. Not crowded and relaxing. Water is moderate temperature and safe for swimming. Amazing views and breathtaking stretch of the beach. A definite must stop on the Garden Route.
