Terrible attitude by one of the young ladies. Both I and my wife were forced to taste the exact same wines because "it's policy". Even though we each paid to taste a choice of 3 wines. Lost a sale and a customer for life.

Luscious lawns and picturesque views across the dam. There's a nice jungle gym play area for kids albeit far away from everything else. Half of our party wanted to taste the wine, while the other half really just wanted a coffee, which on the day we were told was impossible because they were too busy. Well there weren't more people... More

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write a review. I'm sorry that you could not be served coffee, December was wonderfully busy, but we only have a small kitchen which concentrates on our tasting platters. Quite simply we have a lovely tasting room offering platters, we don't pretend to be a restaurant or a café. I will... More

Absolutely beautiful setting, delicious wine and most importantly fantastic staff who were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. There is even a new play area for kids so they truly cater for all! Highly recommend visiting this lovely wine estate

Dear Sophie, Thank you for writing such a lovely review. Lorraine heads up a great team in the tasting room, and I will certainly make sure your comments are passed on to "Team Sumaridge". The new play area is proving to be a hit with both parents and their children. I well remember travelling with our four when they were... More

We were a group of four, my wife, my good mate and his wife, we had a chauffeur tour of the region which took in several of the local wineries. We sampled several wines and experienced many variances of hospitality throughout the day, our experience at Sumaridge was second to none and left us with nothing but praise for the... More

Dear Justin, Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very lucky to have a great team of people in the tasting room headed up by "Mother Hen" Lorraine. We are great believers that a tasting room experience should be as welcoming and as friendly as possible. We do have some superb wines - but there is no... More

It was extremely busy when we arrived. Great vibe however. Most beautiful setting! Fantastic wines on offer and kids have space to run! A must, if in the area.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write a review. Like most of Hermanus we have been hectically busy over the holidays....so apologies if we were not as tranquil as usual, but hopefully the atmosphere made up for it! Glad your children enjoyed a run around and hope they enjoyed the play area too! Many thanks again -... More

Great platters, good wine, slightly understaffed but still a smile on their faces! Awesome views, not bad for a stop!

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write a review. If you didn't receive the service you expected, we are so sorry. However, the holiday season is manic - and when it comes to our lovely tasting room staff - we take a view that quality beats quantity! That said, we really appreciate your feedback and we will... We went to Sumaridge as we did the Hemel en Aarde valley wine route. When we arrived the first thing that we found odd was that the childrens play area was on the other side of the dam. Not ideal for wine tasting parents. When we walked in we felt like an inconvenience, especially with a 2 year old! We... More

I appreciate you taking the trouble to write a review. Our play area was only installed this week - so I have not even seen it yet! Very rare for our tasting room staff not to be "on the ball" and I will look into that tomorrow. We do appreciate all customer feedback - it's how we all live and... More

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at the lodge at Sumaridge. The lodge break being generously auctioned by the benevolent owners to raise funds for charity. The Wine Master 'Walter' astounded us with his knowledge and passion for his job and this vineyard. Quality being the overriding concern in all the do. Whether you are drinking 'Wayfarer, Epitome or Pinot Noir'... More

Dear Julie, THANK YOU for your lovely review! We so appreciate your trouble in writing it. It gives "Team Sumaridge" a huge fillip when they know that their efforts to share our little bit of 'heaven on earth' have been greatly enjoyed. I won't comment on the rugby - the 'boks are not enjoying a happy time - but it's... More

Okay, so the third stop of a wine route roadtrip was Sumaridge and probably the best stop of the day. On arrival we were gobsmacked by the architecture and had to have a whole photoshoot before we entered. We were warmly greeted and a friendly girl started our tasting (it was her first day) and then gave over to a... More

Lorraine and the team are outstanding. We have had a wonderful stay, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Some of our guests have allergies and they did a great job of accommodating them.
