Grotto Beach

One of the blue flag beaches in Hermanus. A great beach to go to to relax and take a walk. The beach is not that busy or crowded most of the time.

My daughter and I took our shoes off, rolled up our trousers and walked over the white sands. A wave or two caught us and the tingling sensation of the cold water on our feet was lovely. The beach stretches for miles. The water at this time of the year is very cold and only the most intrepid, or children,... More

This is one of the best beaches Ive ever seen- Miles of clean sand, with an inland nature reserve - we saw flamingos, kingfisher and many sea birds. Easy access and parking

This Blue Flag beach has an extensive white sand frontage onto the sea – at 14 degrees I did not test the water but it appeared that the beach has a gradual slope out to sea and is certainly suitable for swimming – a small café, life savers in season, clean toilets, picnic spots and ample parking must make this... Loved the area... even though we were there on a miserable grey overcast day the area is lovely and we are inspired - will be back in December

This lovely beach has acres of soft sand. Beach umbrellas and loungers are available at reasonable prices. The beach is backed by good changing and toilet facilities and a beach bar caters for thirsts. Above the beach is Dutchies restaurant offering indoor or al-fresco dining. The food here is very good, the service friendly and efficient. You will need to... More

What a great beach! From the recliners and umbrellas for hire, to the restaurant right on the beach. Lots of fun for the whole family!

Grotto beach is a long expanse of beach with lots of space; great for running or walking dogs. It's very empty so there were lots of interesting nature discoveries in the sand. There was a little food stall and a restaurant. Sufficient parking.

Grotto Beach is a clean and neat, dog-friendly beach. The restaurant called "Dutchies" right by the beach had amazing sushi. Friendly service and good food.
