Historic wine area with several great wineries to visit and wines to taste. We bought a few bottles and they packed them to put in our luggage. All arrived safely home in our checked bags.

Beautiful views of all the Vineyards in the area. Taking an Uber from the city center is cheaply priced and reliable. Make sure to do chocolate tastings wherever you go!

We stayed for six days in mid March. This lovely boutique hotel/B&B was perfect for a week trip to Cape Town. Constantia is a beautiful suburb of Cape Town and is very handy for visiting the many upmarket vineyards ofConstantia.
The Lodge is very safe. The bedrooms are perfect, we stayed upstairs in a large room with balcony. The bed was comfy, the room clean and had a bathroom and separate wc.
The breakfasts were perfect and Willard looked after our every need. He is such a helpful person with a beautiful smile. Nothing is too much trouble for him and any of the staff. They were very helpful in sorting an extra room for our daughter who paid us a surprise visit.
Thanks Willard!

This is a "must visit" location if one appreciates sheer beauty and likes quality wines coupled with delicious food. There are numerous vineyards to choose from. And lots of African history to learn about and explore. In terms of specifics there is Groot Constantia - where it all began centuries ago. But now there are many options to choose from. We have our personal favorites in terms of wine estates which we will name in the hope of assisting other tourists. But they are all good to excellent/outstanding. Our personal favorites include Steenberg estate which is across the road from the US Consulate in Steenberg at the edge of Constantia. Another favorite is Constantia Glen. Wonderful views, great ambiance. Then there is Buitenverwachting. Stunning. All serve quality food in their on-site restaurants. A highly recommended area to visit. Most vineyards in Constantia do wine tastings. On a Friday late afternoon there is a food market at The Range. Fun. On Saturdays there are two markets (one on Wednesday evenings as well) in the Tokai area. These offer food, wine and beer among other offerings (no alcohol on Saturday mornings at the Tokai forest market). Enjoy.

Loved the wineries. Especially the Shiraz. Get the Shiraz. It's amazing! And the chocolate that it is paired with will blow your mind.

A great place to visit when it is windy at the coast. Do wine tasting or go for a walk in the green belt or eat at a wide range of restaurants

Is there any small route to go by feet and spend a few hours with walking from winary to winary?

The Vineyards are quite spread out. However there is an open top bus, mini wine tour. This allows you to Visit Groot Constantia, Eagles Nest and Beau Constantia vineyards.
