Rows of colorful houses greet you and beautiful art work is sold on the streets. There is a history to the place too.

Very close to Long Street, this small area (handful of small streets) make a colourful background for pictures. Not more than 10-20mins....

The repainted houses in the bo-kaap are a must see in Cape Town. Roses corner shop has numerous well painted adverts and the eatery entrance has interesting pictures from bygone days.

The houses are so colourful, well worth a visit. We walked around on our own after exploring Long Street.

This lovely area is not to be missed. It extends off over quite an area and all the houses (which have a similar pattern) are different colours. Really bright and vibrant area and - at least during the day - seems very safe.

Would suggest that a take a slow drive through the neighbourhood first. Then you park at Wale Street and take some pics nearby of the picturesque homes.

I agree, the area is pretty safe during daytime, so you can walk around on your own. But it is nice to get the full impact of the neighbourhood by joining a walking tour and get to know the history behind the coloured... More
