Quite a place..too much to do

The place has a nice vibe to it.. Lots of local stuff to buy and eat..must visit in the evening to get a local flavour.. Beware of the beggars running around..

Very touristy. Information centre is very useful and wifi available. Other than that it's just souvenir shop street.

We walkled Long St a couple of times and there are some great coffee places, food stops, and nice shops. BUT this is a poor area of Cape Town and we found the people begging making us feel very uncomfortable...if you give them anything you are soon surrounded by many others. if you don't give them anything they stay right... Long Street as the name suggest is long. The section closer to the water is less interesting (modern buildings), but going north you can admire beautiful building dating from the end of the XIX century, renovated and well maintained. A few great bars and eateries are very busy and the crowd is young and look well off. A great street... More

Enjoyed a few evenings on Long Street. We went over Easter and it's worth noting bank ho,I days are very different in Cape Town. Most of the bars and restaurants were closed Easter Sunday and Monday and there wasn't much life around the streets but the other days it was a great experience and we met people from all over... Long Street, Cape Town is close to Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. Long street has a variety of bookshops, antique stores, African curious, African drumming and restaurants to suit just about every palate. Don't miss out on this one!

My honey and I walked up this road twice and could not figure out what the fuss was with this street. It reminded me of a "bootleg" Bourbon Street, if you have ever visited New Orleans. There is one good bar/restaurant that we visited that was right on the road (I am sorry, the name escapes me at the moment),... More
