Early 20th Century so interesting rather than spectacular. The stained glass is worth seeing else there’s not too much to detain you. The cloisters were a surprise; we spotted them only by entering the VOC Gardens alongside.

Some buildings are worth standing and seeing. Closes at 3pm. Lovely. Right in the heart of Green Market Square.

St. George's is a beautiful church very close to the downtown city bowl area of Cape Town. This is the church of Archbishop Desmond Tutu in recent years and is really beautiful inside and out. Stopping point on many free city walking tours.

It's a nice Cape Town, nothing comparing to those of Europe but a good visit non the less. The labyrinth outside is a fun activity that is enjoyable for all ages.

We ended up having an extra day after our tour, and went to visit St. George's. We ended up being their from the end of a service, and enjoyed some beautiful organ music. The stained glass windows are amazing.

Though not necessarily the grandest of cathedrals, it's completely charming in its own way. Plus, it's seen quite of bit of impressive history in its time. And the African Madonna is well worth the visit, too. St. George's is the perfect respite for a few...More

Not much special to report on the building, but when you come to the plaque listing all the bishops and archbishops, you realize that this was Archbishop Desmond Tutu's church. That makes it special. The first black Anglican archbishop, elected during the height of Apartheid.

Beautiful cathederal. We were lucky enough to be there when the choir was practicing for the next service. Stunning glass windows and filled with history.

It's nice to have the honor to enter a building that hosted some of the most compassionate activists that helped South Africa be a better place for everyone and not just for a certain elitist group. Worth a visit. If you are on your own...More
