When we came in we found the woman behind the desk asleep and she seemed very annoyed we woke her. We tried to ask her about the current exhibition but she just kept on repeating the entrance price (R60). The museum had lots of empty...More

Once you enter the beautiful door and enjoy the building, the permanent collection is more European Artists. We saw only two galleries with modern African artwork which was really nice. I guess this place depends on what exhibit is that n. Right now they have...More

I did not find it interesting and the displays were not well thought out. There were a lot of empty space with nothing on display. I would not recommend anyone to visit the gallery.

The wonderful thing about art is that it is all a matter of opinion. You'll like what some people hate. Many different exhibitions which will be sure to interest most people. My favorite has to be the portraits by Diane Victor. Cheap entry as well.

i saw several very interesting exhibitions in the National Gallery. Unfortunately they cool the rooms to such a low temperature that you cannot stay in there for too long without a wintercoat in the midst of summer

The best thing about this museum is the beaded assault vehicle which is outside. I found the indoor exhibits less than interesting...although there are a few good pieces. Also, some of the exhibits are incomplete.

We had high expectations and staff and facilities were all good. The collection was highly political and would benefit from being a bit more balanced with other art genres.
