Such a lovely bay and the highlight was seeing the penguins and could have spent hours there just watching them

What's not to love. Views views and more views. Chapman's Peak, from sea to mountains. Cute independent shops and great restaurants.

This area about 30 mins from Cape Town has lots of interest. There is a working harbour, with fishing boats, a craft market with plenty of tourists to buy plus an excellent Out of Africa shop. There are both seals and cormorants to view. There are boat trips for seal watching (some glass bottomed) and snorkelling. There a few restaurants... More

Go to hout bay for a wonderful drive down chapmans peak, the drive in itself is such a treat with amazing views of the atlantic seaboard. When you get to hout bay, you will be spoiled for choice in terms of places to eat. Best of the lot is Mariners Wharf. You may even be lucky to see some locals... More

This place is stunning, very far from being touristy, clean beach, and they have the best markets for nik naks at great prices. Plus, you can hop on a boat and go snorkeling with the seals which was amazing!

I visited Hout Bay, while taking a tour of the peninsula south of Cape Town. I was overtaken by the stunning beauty of this place.

This is a huge white sandy bay, with shops and restaurants. We saw lots of seals in the harbour which was delightful. There is a craft market along the harbour. Wouk daughter be a nice area to stay and travel around Cape Town. Use My city buses to reach this bay if you're in Cape Town.

If you are looking for nice beaches in SA and will be travelling alongside the coast this one won't be the best for sure. Having said that, there is a fish market (check days), which could be for the seafood lovers amongst you. The bay itself though is neither large nor particulary special.
