Lots of the usual craft stalls in the square and certainly worth a look if you fancy something like this. Also worth looking up - amazing Art Nouveau buildings.

Lots of stalls here selling all sorts. Be sure to bargain hard and you will pick up some good items to take home.

I recommend that you take a walking tour so you will learn the significance of this square. Today it's a place where tourists can purchase artifacts but this place has a long history of being a busy market.

It is expected that you bargain and agree on pricing. Large selection of local art and crafts. Your photographs will come out quite colorful. I was able to purchase beautiful scarves with African motifs for loved ones at home.

A wide variety of African wares. The vendors are a bit on the aggressive side, but most are very nice to deal with. If you're looking for a souvenir to bring back from Cape Town, you're sure to find something in this market.

I'll never forget my first trip to Cape Town, over 10years ago, this market was a vibrant hub of artisans, fast forward to 2018, the market is filled with poorly made overpriced Afrijunk, sad to see this happen to a place that I genuinely was...More

Officially, 9am-5pm, but they'll sell earlier if you're there with money and they'll start closing up at 4 if it's a slow day.

9 to 5 according to their website. Be cautious and watchful in this area. We witnessed a necklace snatching and credit card theft just feet from the market perimeter. Once inside the perimeter security is tight.
