A busy market with African souvenirs and clothes. Friendly people who do not bully you into looking at their wares. Amazing is the sight of the stalls being taken down and carted off after 5pm. Not a job I envy but am full of admiration.

If you want to have some gifts you can find cheap options here. you need to negotiate the price as they will sell 50% of the first price told to customer. some of the items found here are African in general and not south african.

I had a couple of beers in a bar in Greenmarket Square while my wife went shopping. It was lovely to just sit and watch the world go by. The market had an intense hustle and bustle and the people watching potential was great.

An interesting place to visit, to sit down in a café after and to enjoy the view, the going on of the passing people and have a little rest

This little market was our first opportunity to buy local crafts. Lots of the same thing beautifully displayed. Bargaining is part of the process too. Colourful experience.

If you're after a souvenir of your time in the Cape then Greenmarket Square is as good as anywhere for crafted gifts. Especially good at Christmas time where they really do have some inventive Christmas decorations.

No, they won't ship unless you buy inside a store, which might be more expensive, but sometimes they can surprise you with great bargains. There are plenty around the market. And if you fin something outside, It is always... More

The market isn't enclosed, it's just out there on a closed-off street. In the middle of downtown, so yes, wheelchair accessible for sure. As for parking, it seemed to be just street parking. We were on foot so didn't pay much... More

exchange your dollars for rand at ATM or exchange shops. You can usually purchase items of half of the asking price. Keep your hang bag, wallet close to you as pick pockets will have an eye on you.
