During a visit to the Big Hole in Kimberley, South Africa you will not only see the largest man made hole in the world but also the largest diamond display in the world. Various displays will introduce you to the world of diamond mining and all aspects of diamonds as well as the history of diamonds in South Africa. On show is also the Old Town witch will give you an idea of what Kimberley looked like more than 100 years ago. We have various shops on the site where you could buy curios as well as diamonds and jewellery. Also available is a coffee shop and bar to quench your thirst and hunger. We are fully wheelchair friendly. Open every day of the year from 08:00 to 17:00 Guided tours on offer.

Good museum and tour that you can take in addition to viewing the big hole. Interesting history and worth a stop. Secure parking, the area around it setup like a mining town in the 1800s with a good pub (this part does not require admission).

The viewing platforms have been moved substantially backwards due to cave ins but the it really is worth the visit with great views into the mine as well as across Kimberley

The Greatest Wonder in the WORLD. Deepest MAN MADE HOLE in the WORLD.THE FIRST CITY IN THE WORLD TO HAVE ELECTRICITY. The city should have been much more developed with this wonderful discovery but was not.

Traveled to Kimberley from Mokala National park especially to visit this attraction. It was amazing to see the Big Hole, seen it on T.V. and pictures, but you don't really appreciate the full effect until you see it in person. Also partook in the tour...More

Informative guided tour of the Big Hole and visit down the mine, small shopping area and pub restaurant. The website provides further details. Worth a visit if you have not seen it before.
We will be working our way up from Cradock to Bela Bela and thought to stop over for 1 night in Kimberley. How much time is needed to see The blue Hole? Can we start a tour after 1:00 pm in August?

Good Morning A guided tour takes about an hour to fininish this excludes the Old Town which can take up about an hour to visit as well. So i will advise about 2hrs you will need to spend at the museum. Please visit our... More
