We visited in January/ February 2016 It was a very special day the guide was so good, new the Hippo's and there families, got very close. The evening cruise would be the best but gets booked very quickly. You should take a good camera and video cam, it really is worth a visit. we were unlucky because the water levels... More

A lovely leisurely cruise down the St Lucia Estuary watching hippos in their natural habitat. The guide Dennis was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts with us throughout the 2hr tour. It was especially amazing seeing the 13 day old baby hippo. Spotted a majestic fish eagle in the Estuary as well. Definitely recommend this cruise for people wanting... More

We did the 4 30 boat trip with friends plenty of Hippos to see! The tour guide knows her wildlife and loves her job . Take drinks on the boat as only tea and coffee are offered

We took a tour of 2 hours. At the start there is not much to see. When we were 30 minutes away, I couldn't count the number of hippo's I saw anymore! we also saw some crocodiles. Definitely no swimming area :) !! Nice boattrip, 2 hours was enough for us. bring a sunscreen, a good pair of sunglasses, and... More

I went on the 4:30 pm cruise arranged by Heritage Tours. We were in the smaller Shoreline cruise boats which made for a more intimate experience. The guide was very knowledgable and good at getting the boat in close to hippos for good shots. It has taken 20 years for the boats to get this close without scaring the hippos.... More

We took a 4:30pm trip with Shoreline to see the hippos....this is the best time of day for hippo activity as they are beginning to wake up ready for their evening meal!! Lots of yawning so good for photos. Our guide was very knowledgeable not only about the hippos but bird watching and wildlife in general. As well as the... More

We had this excursion @8h30 in the morning. It may a good idea to take a jacket as it could be windy. We saw off course hippo, birds, etc. and we receive plenty of interesting informations about black and white mangrove, birds, estuary, etc. I recommend it with no hesitation.

This is a short two hour boat tour on the estuary. We saw lots of hippos, but no crocs. Apparently water levels have risen and the mud banks are not well exposed, so the crocs are not easily seen. No matter, we saw loads of hippos including calves. A few big yawns as well. The hippos were a little less... More

Great wetlands where large pods of Hippos enjoy the good life. Boat tours do a good job of getting you in close
