Ou Kruger Park visit was a disappointment.
May 2021 • Couples
As lovers of wild life and the bushveld, we loved every minute of our recent visit to the Kruger National Park. The area received good rains over the last couple of years and it shows. The animals are fat and shining with health , grass to graze on is plentiful and everything is green. Everywhere are pools of water and dams are full. But that is where our enjoyment stops. The rangers at Krokodil Bridge were sullen, unhelpful and even rude. While our reception at Skukuza restcamp was a little friendlier, the reception lady at Mopanie restcamp was extremely unfriendly and abrupt. A general aura of neglect is visible at every restcamp that we visited. Infrastructure such as glass doors are damaged , furniture and curtains are old and run-down and the stove in our family cottage at Mopani was not properly cleaned. The biggest disappointment was Punda Maria Rest Camp where two of the showers in our expensive family bungalow were not working and an attempt by the manager to repair these was fruitless. The patio furniture were falling apart and the outside walls were dirty and in desperate need of paint. One gets the impression that there is very little investment in maintenance of the infrastructure and furnishings and that the take-it-or-leave-it attitude of the staff towards guests in quite a few camps leaves a lot to be desired. We will not return soon.

Great camping at Shingwedsi
Mar 2021 • Couples
We camped for three nights at Shingwedsi. Friendly and very helpful personnel. Nice and clean amenities. Lots and lots of birds and animals. Spectacular nature after recent rains. Place will see us again!

Beautiful park, but corrupt traffic police
Feb 2021
Stayed at Shimuwini and Letaba, which were special experiences. One of the many highlights were the morning picnic spots where you can hire a gas skottel and cook an amazing breakfast while enjoying the views. Animal sightings were too numerous to mention and the birdlife was abundant. We live in the U.K. and it is hard to find untouched open spaces like the Kruger elsewhere in the world. Sadly, on exiting the park, close to the Palaborwa gate, we were stopped by Thomas, a the traffic policeman, who asked for a bribe before letting us go. It was an unpleasant experience that you don't expect as a tourist and a sad indictment on the current ANC government as bribery seems quite pervasive in the country at present. It wasn't enough to spoil an otherwise special and memorable experience!

Amazing and breathtaking flora and fauna!!!
Mar 2020
We only had about a day (02/23/2020) in the park, which is not enough. Maybe it would have been on a sunny day, but we had rain most of the time. Which is maybe why we only saw 2 of the Big 5. We saw so many different animals and the park is so big. You can't imagine how beautiful it is here. If you don't come here, you've really missed something!!! We saw many elephants here, but there are even more in Botswana. If you are into elephants: go to Botswana! The parks in Botswana might not be as big, but they are a bit more stunning and beautiful than Kruger National Park. Don't missunderstand, Kruger is very beautiful and you should definitely come here. We saw lions mate here (and in Hwange National Park). It was truly an exciting and memorable day and we want to come back.

Just fantastic, good roads, lots and lots of game
Jan 2021 • Couples
The Kruger is just awesome. The game and sightings out of this world. Service differs vastly across the park, from brilliant to arrogant and rude. Accommodation is average and the rangers are most helpful chatting too. Road rules and park staff use of the roads is poor and does not set a good example. Contractors operating in the park do not observe speed limits or rules and cause unnecessary challenges. Despite ll thes a real winner and we will be back again. Just a treat

5 Star National Park
Dec 2020
Kruger National Park certainly is the place to experience the beauty of nature and animals and it doesn't disappoint on every occasion.
Returned with my teens and had an amazing experience and created lasting memories. We sighted all of the BIG 5 and so many more. The landscape, rock formations and scenery was awe-inspiring. This incredible Park is truly a must for all nature lovers and definitely value for money for the day visit.
The Skukuza Day Visitors area seemed a bit neglected but all in all a wonderful visit.

My first visit to the Kruger National Park! Wow what an amazing experience!! It is so well organised with comfortable rest places where one can have a picnic. It was so clean and safe. This Park is 2.5 million hector! I enjoyed the animals so much! On my first safari I saw the lions enjoy their kill of a buffalo! What a sight!! For the first time I sighted a leopard! What a gracious animal but scary! The Kruger National Park is still the best for sightings of the big 5! It exceeded my expectations!! Highly recommended!

Best nature reserve
Dec 2020 • Family
Visiting Kruger was an amazing experience. There is such a wide variety of wildlife. It is a privilege to be able to experience nature in this way. The park itself is well looked after- the roads are in good condition, there are a number of rest areas in clearly demarcated areas. Would love to visit again and again.

Good...bucket list checked
Nov 2020
We loved the ability to do a self-drive in the park in our car, this was our preferred method of touring the park as we had a jumpy 3-year-old in tow and could not use an open-top safari vehicle. The park roads are paved and you don't need a 4WD.....literally any car will do. Network coverage is not available in most parts so if you can download and save your offline map you will be all set to navigate through this enormous park. Take note of the big five animal sightings displayed on the boards at the entrance of the various gated rest stops.

Being from Kenya though, we admittedly had high expectations and were disappointed that we did not spot as much of the big five except for elephants. This is possibly due to our preference to self-drive sans guide but the boards did not indicate these prized animal sightings in the two days prior....or really just our bad luck. Lots of birds and springbok. The signage on some of the attractions could be improved.

Skukuza rest stop has a swanky cafe with great coffee, snacks and a train-themed sitdown restaurant. The play area is a plus if travelling with kids. Though we prefer the vistas of the savannah in the East African game drives, Kruger was on our bucket list and it was a good experience.
