We spent almost 11 hours being driven around Kruger by knowledgeable friends. African wild dogs. Dead warthog in tree...courtesy of a leopard. Turtles catching a ride on the beaches of hippos. Giraffes at sunset. A glimpse of a leopard. Great day and some great pictures. The self driving seemed easy enough and allows you to stop and watch at your... More

We did a self drive through the upper half of Kruger and absolutely loved it. We saw plenty of wildlife and were able to stop whenever we liked for as long as we liked. We stopped so often that we actually had to make a concentrated effort to get to our camp before sunset. We plan on doing this again.

Arrived there early morning and left mid afternoon. Viewed many different native wildlife species. Saw lions, giraffe, zebra, rhinos, elephant, multiple types of antelope. Had regular bathroom stops. Park has excellent facilities to eat, shop etc. the vehicles were open but did have a top to protect you from the hot sun. A must if in the area

The tarred roads straight away create a less wild vibe/experience than parks in Tanzania. I'm not sure if all parts of Kruger are similar but it felt like a giant zoo. We saw some incredible things here like a leopard feeding on an impala, but due to the thick bush it can be difficult to spot animals. In terms of... More

We enjoyed a self drive through northern Krüger Park to and fro Phalaborwa Gate. Without guide we were able to see quite some game in very dry Krüger Park. Even from the road with our Noda rental car we had very interesting spottings. If you do not expect a zoo you will not be unsatisfied.
