Best safari experience with Wild Wings safari
We had the best time of our life and this is the first holiday we felt sad that it was finishing. We got used to safari every day, waking up in the morning to go for game drives and spot animals. We covered a lot in 5 days and Simon our guide made sure that we see all the big five and we surely did. There were so many memories but the best one would be to see 21 Lions. And see some lion cubs playing and some of the lions taking a dip in the reservoir. One of the other memorable moments is capturing Leopard walking toward our safari Jeep on the first day. We have been quite lucky, I think it’s fair to say I can write 5-10 pages about experience 🤣.

Chobe National Park planned by Wild Wings was perfect.
We had a really good experience with Wild Wings. Michael was our tour coordinator. We contacted Wild Wings via email and the communication was prompt and detailed as we corresponded about what we were looking for. Initial communication is so important in gaining our trust and Michael did just that. We had planned other portions of our time in Africa and just wanted to fill in a few days at Chobe. Our itinerary included: pickup at our Victoria Falls hotel, assistance crossing into Botswana, hotel for 2 nights, 2 sunset river safaris and 2 morning safari drives, meals to be included and then transport back across the border and drop off at the VF airport. Everything went just as planned. Very grateful to Wild Wings for the smooth execution of our plans. As it turns out, this was our favorite thing we did in our travels. The evening safaris on the river were fabulous! Thank you Wild Wings.

    Professional service, thoughtful itinerary!
Our trip went smoothly following an excellent itinerary, staying at three different safari camps in Northern Zimbabwe, close to the Zambezi River. We stayed at first class hotels and safari camps all the way, and never missed a connection. We enjoyed safe but adventurous safari experiences, and were treated like royalty at every camp site. We brought back memories that our family will cherish forever.

Brilliant service and Outstanding Holiday ⭐️
We had an absolutely incredible holiday experience with Wild Wings Safari! Our journey began with the beautiful accommodation in Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Zimbabwe, where the staff were very kind and helpful. Our room looked over the beautiful scenery and animals at the watering hole. We had a wonderful evening on the Zambezi sunset cruise seeing sunset on the river was stunning. The following day seeing the breathtaking views of Victoria Falls was certainly a life highlight. Our travels continued as we embarked on a full Safari adventure in Kruger National Park, and thanks to our outstanding guide Rufus, we were able to spot the Big 5. Rufus's knowledge and expertise truly enhanced our Safari experience. What sets Wild Wings Safari apart is their impeccable support throughout every aspect of our journey. From the careful planning and coordination before our trip to the seamless logistics during and even after, they left no stone unturned. Their dedication to ensuring our holiday was smooth and unforgettable truly shines through. We wholeheartedly recommend Wild Wings Safari to anyone seeking an unforgettable and well-supported adventure. Their commitment to excellence and personalized service make them a standout choice. We would not hesitate to choose them for our future travel plans.

    Incredible experience
We had an absolutely incredible experience on our Wild Wings Safari. Michael was so helpful and kind when our flight was delayed and we landed in South Africa 24hrs later than expected. He was in constant contact with us and arranged a last minute transfer to ensure we got to Kruger on the same day as planned. Our safari guide (Simon) was so knowledgeable about the animals and the area, and his passion for the wildlife really helped make our trip as wonderful as it could be. His cooking is great too! He made us meals every night and hot and cold breakfast options every morning. We had an amazing time and cannot recommend Wild Wings enough.

    A perfect Zimbabwe safari
Wild Wings did a great job organising our 10 day / 9 night Zimbabwe tour covering Hwange NP, Matusadona NP and Mana Pools NP. Our agent Clare was informative and helpful, and always at had to answer any questions and assist us. The tour itself is a great overview of Zimbabwe covering 3 different national parks. The camps were fantastic and all the logistics from charter flights and transfers were handled smoothly. Will recommend Wild Wings to anyone and will definitely get in touch with them for future trips to the region.

    Great Wild Wings safari
We are just back from a 5 day safari in Kruger Park with Wild Wings and can’t stop looking to the many pictures we took. It was an amazing experience! Simon, our guide told us entering the park: “your holiday is over now, you are in a safari” 😊 No time was actually wasted and we spent most of the day looking for wildlife to admire. We spotted rare animals like a white lion and the rhinoceros (now much lesser than before Covid in the park ☹). The morning walk in the bush was very interesting as well as the night drive. Needless to say, Simon was a top animal spotter, but he was also very instructive on wildlife and the Kruger in particular. Last but not least, a great chef. We really enjoyed his cooking. I can’t avoid to mention that the assistance from office was great and the booking procedure easy and smooth – thank you Ilaria for your support!

Great time on 5 day tour
We booked our entire safari trip through Wild Wings and were completely satisfied with the quality, professionalism and overall experience. Mike Malan of Wild Wings crafted a well balanced itinerary that included the Wild Wings 5 day Kruger visit along with other destinations we wanted to see (Sabi Sands, Victoria Falls and Chobe River). Mike took our input, made suggestions and we settled on a trip that had lots of diverse settings and locations. Communiction was always prompt and efficient and even though we had to delay our trip a couple times (Covid shutdowns), Mike was there to rebook, work with the lodges and keep us informed. During our Kruger stay, Rufus was our Wild Wings guide, chef, tracker, friend and all around great guy. He was phenomenal at spotting wildlife and identifying birds/animals. If you think you can spot animals in the bush like he can, you're kidding yourself, it was unreal. We enjoyed the company of other guests and it made for fun game viewing and dinners by our Kruger cottages. When the next phase of our safari started, Mike arranged all ground transfers and logistics to get us from one camp to the next. We arranged flights but there was always a transfer waiting for us when we arrived at the next destination. Wild Wings and their entire team gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our safari wonders and the amazing people of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

    Winning Big at Kruger
We did the 5D Best of Kruger Safari tour. The first half of the safari was centered around Skukuza (Southern Kruger) and the other half was around Satara (Central Kruger). Accommodation was basic but adequate and clean. Traveling from Skukuza to Satara we got a sense of the size of the park and given the fact that the animals were wild, you never know what you will see, like participating in a game of chance. Our guide Rufus worked hard to try to meet our expectations and after that to cook really delicious meals for us. His hard work, knowledge of the area and experience definitely tipped the scales in our favor. We had many sightings with a number of sightings that were really special. These included lions chasing away hyenas, feeding and guarding their kill, a hunt in progress and cheetahs. To see a cheetah here is rare. To see a cheetah and her cubs - that is precious! So if the safari was like a game of chance, we felt like we won it big at Kruger! Thanks Rufus and Wild Wings Safaris.

AMAZING, we saw the Big Five and even more
We just came back from a 5 days safari with Rufus, our INCREDIBLE guide. Our experience was just amazing. We saw the big five and even more (Chetas and wild dogs). Rufus is a sweat, caring, he has and answer to all are questions. He knows everything about the animals, the birds and the nature. He is a guide since 17 years and he loves his job as if it was the first day. And he is a very good cook. So if you booked with Wild Wings ask for Rufus, the best!!!

We just returned from an amazing 5-Day Best of Kruger Safari with Wild Wings Safari. If you are thinking about booking- don’t hesitate. Here’s why:

Clare’s coordination of our safari and prompt communication set the tone for our trip. We felt like we were in good, solid, professional hands from the start.

This professionalism, warmth and “heart” carried through to our Safari experience with Simon, Nicky and Doug. Our Safari experience truly exceeded our expectations. We got to see the Big 5, went on a bush walk and night drive. Our guides were a blast and were so knowledgeable.

Having Doug cook our delicious meals was a delight. We appreciated his thoughtful menu choices and preparation. Our family/group meals together was a highlight.

Thank you so much to the Wild Wings Safari team who made this experience so fantastic and accessible! We had such a wonderful time as a family!

My husband and I have just come back from a 4 day safari with Wild Wings in Kruger National Park in South Africa. This experience was truly sensational from start to finish! We were recommended to go with Wild Wings by a good friend and we were not disappointed, they have given us the trip of a lifetime. Booking was super easy, we dealt with Michael who throughout the whole process of booking was super helpful and couldn’t do enough for us in terms of answering questions and giving us all the information we needed, he was a great help. Our guide for the safari was Nikki, she is awesome! Her knowledge of the park and all the animals no matter what the shape or size was incredible, we learnt so much from her. When watching wildlife there is no guarantee on seeing anything however we were super lucky and got to see all the animals we wanted to, now of course this is partly down to luck but a huge part of it was Nikki’s guiding expertise of the park itself and her knowledge of the animals. As a result we were able to be in the right place at the right time for so many unforgettable sightings! We can’t thank you enough Nikki for making this trip extremely special! We would highly recommend Wild Wings Safari company for anyone wanting a truly mesmerizing wildlife experience. We will certainly be using them again in the future, thank you Wild Wings!!

Since we came all the way from The Netherlands and had saved for this trip for years, we wanted to make the most of our time together as a family. Wild Wings gave us several suggestions, one of which was to do the Panorama route and 5-day Kruger safari, a total of 7 days with a guide. This proved to be excellent advice.

We loved every minute of our week, from beginning to end. We were picked up by the friendly guide Simon, from our airport hotel in Jo'burg. We then travelled to Graskop where we stayed for 2 nights. We loved the swimming pool with a view - next to our chalet! Over the next 48 hours we visited several highlights of the Panorama route: God's Window, Berlin Falls, Mac Mac Pools, etc. A very relaxing and beautiful start to our holiday. Simon arranged the breakfasts and dinners, which were delicious and rich!

After this we travelled to Skukuza to discover the Kruger. Before we even entered the camp we had already seen impala, many elephants (up close!), hippos, crocodiles and zebras. The next day Simon found rhinos for us, which took quite a drive, but he and us persevered. For the final 2 days we stayed in Satara, were we saw many female and male lions up close, the white lion Casper, more crocodiles and hippos and a lot of elephants, giraffes, buffalo and zebras.

We were impressed with Simon's hard work, his kindness, his dedication to his profession, his love for and knowledge of the animals and the personal touch. The meals were exquisite too. Despite the fact that the days were long (early starts and long drives), we wish they would have been even longer. There was just so much to see and do, even though we had booked the longest of the 'Best of Kruger' options. Simon was always on time and flexible too. The tour was very affordable and worth every cent!

The only problem is that we were hit with a virus: the Kruger virus has now infected us! We want to come back as soon as we can. We have already started saving for the next time. Thank you for everything, Wild Wings!

Onne from Wild Wings was very helpful in planning a very last minute trip. He made himself available after regular work hours for any questions. All my transfers, hotels, tours were top rated!

Our safari guide, Rufus, was great! He was very knowledgeable about Kruger and all the animals we saw. He was very personable and always a great chef.

Shawn, the guide, in Cape Town was excellent. We spent all day exploring Cape Town and its surrounding areas. We covered of ground in one days.

I would highly recommend Wild Wings for your next African adventure!

Please forgive the Review Title - an inside joke that hopefully brings a chuckle to those in the know!

I was recently over in South Africa for a wedding and decided to make a trip of it with a safari. Having researched Trip Advisor I came across Wild Wings and decided to book. There were two of us that went on the Safari with Simon, and I have to say it was a faultless experience!

From the communication prior to leaving, the clear itinerary on what to expect and the ease of booking it was a seemless process; however it is difficult to put into words the quality of the experience once we had arrived!

We booked the 4-day Safari experience and were picked up from our hotel in Johannesburg exactly on time.

Our guide, Simon, was brilliant! An awesome sense of humour had us in stitches at times and it almost felt like another mate along for the trip. It was clear that he was highly knowledgeable from the first moment and the other guides in the park seemed to come to him consistently for advice and guidance. Simon also had a super keen eye - at one point he was able to spot a Leopard in a tree from so far away that we even struggled to see it through binnoculars!

His passion for the animals shone through - exemplified by stories of older animals we came across that Simon had known for many years and he could share stories of their prime years with us.

The food was excellent, with our guide cooking for us and joining for dinner / drinks each night and it felt like the perfect experience for two first timers on Safari.

We saw pretty much every animal we had hoped to see, some multiple times, with the vehicle being comfortable and spaceous and the acoomodation being exactly what it said on the tin. Brilliant humour, engaging people and memories that will last a lifetime.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome experience and guide.

Great experience with Wild Wings Safari. After sending some details to Mike Malan he booked a video call with us to really understand what sort of adventure we were looking for. We booked the five day four night safari with guide, in park accommodations at Skukuza and Satara camps inside of Kruger. Wanting the full experience and to maximize our chance of seeing wildlife we also wanted to book with a private reserve. Mike sent us a few private camps to review and choose from, selecting Thambamati for another five days, four nights.

Prior to making our way to Kruger, one of us came down with a travel illness while in Cape Town for a few days. We unfortunately had to cancel our Panorama route tour, but Mike could not have been more caring and helpful. He had booked us at Perry's Bridge Hollow, a wonderful spot, a beautiful room to recuperate in. Mike even arranged for a transfer from the hotel to a local pharmacy. He spoke to the pharmacist himself and we only needed to go and pick up some items which resulted in making it possible to carry on to the Safari.

Eventually we made it to Kruger. Simon, one of Wild Wings founding staff, was our guide. He took great care of us, cooking delicious (and generous) meals, was so knowledgeable about the park and the wildlife and as a bonus an excellent photographer himself. We felt as though we were on a photographic safari, as he knew just how to position the vehicle for lighting and views for his and our photo's. His relationships with other guides and parks staff resulted in us seeing all of the Big five a number of times including Rhino and a White Lion. Simons enthusiasm for even the smallest of creatures and birds resulted in an incredible safari, truly unforgettable.

The four nights, five days is an excellent way to see a large area of the overall park. Your guide checks you in and out of your room so all is taken care of for you. The park accommodations are basic, two or three single beds in a room, your own shower / toilet. Beds were comfortable, sheets and towns provided and nice. The chalets that we stayed in were also air conditioned and had basic kitchens. Not that we needed the kitchen, as Simon did all the cooking (either at a picnic spot on the drive) or back at his Chalet.

Wild Wings packs in the activities, morning drives are not limited by time and so you sometimes stay out until the early afternoon. Evening drives are shorter but an after dark drive (from 8:00-10:00 pm) is organized by Wild Wings and provided by the Kruger Park staff. Also included is a four hour bush walk! As Simon noted and likes to say, you don't go on Safari for a vacation. Yes you are up early and there is lots to do and see but you are so well taken care of, and there is time for a nap or two, that you will wish you had booked more days in the park. Luckily for us Wild Wings had organized the transfer to Thambamati where we shifted from basic to more luxury accomodations.

If you can, we recommend doing the same. Neither experience is better than the other, just different. It was wonderful to do both and if fortunate enough to ever visit again we would visit both the park and the private reserve - and of course all would be booked through Wild Wings.

Our safari was organized well in advance of our trip, but the communication was excellent. They booked great hotels and safari camps for us, and there was someone to meet us at every stop on our journey. A truly memorable experience.
