We hired a coach for our 60 wedding guests to travel from Durban to the Drakensberg and stopped at Butterflies for Africa for a pit stop, tea break and some great insight into the wonderful world of butterflies. We left disappointed. The butterfly enclosure is very small and seemed a little sad. The food offered at the cafeteria wasn't all... More

Decided to be tourists in our own backyard and was definitely happy with our choice! Beautiful, the guide was informative, the café was a lovely place for a bite to eat to finish off the whole experience. Take your friends, take your kids, take your partner and enjoy :)

A place full of butterflies in all forms shapes and sizes, that fly around freely in a covered dome like building - you may even find some sitting on you. The amount of butterflies vary and once they have died they are placed on a board so that one is able to still enjoy the beautiful colours of butterflies that... More

I loved the experience. They had helpful attendants. The only snag is not to go on a very hot dat. It gets extremely uncomfortable if its a hot day. My grand daughter of 2 thoroughly enjoyed herself. The food was also good, not great but ok. They have a variety of gifts and novelties for everyone, big, small, old and... More

What a disappointment but we were told at reception that new larvae hadn't arrived and they reduced the entrance fee by 50%. They have a restaurant, shop and art gallery but we went to see butterflies and only saw 3. I would recommend a quick phone call before you embark on the trip.

In a world of their own you tread softly and watch as they flit from fruit to flower. If you are super lucky they land on your face and you feel their gentle wings leave butterfly kisses over your face.

What a wonderful morning. We drove through from Musgrave and I must say it wasnt as far away as I'd imagined. So quick and easy to find and get to. The quaint space is a little 'over grown' but it adds to the tropical and mystical butterfly environment. My daughter is 18months and she LOVED it. Think her highlight was... More

I must start this review by saying that at the time we went, it was a bad time for them because they had ordered new larvae and there had been a very long delay in receiving them. We were however, surprised at how small it was, for the build-up online that we had. It was quite small, and at the... More
