We were on a general tour of Durban and our bus gave us 45 minutes to browse through this market. It was totally Indian in character and lots of the crafts sold were of Indian origin.

We got beautiful henna tattoos on our hands, and I bought an Indian outfit. (But my local friend who took us was really nervous and told us to really watch our bags, as it can be unsafe there.)

Experience the smell of incense and spices, the haggling Indian and Muslim. It's a place rich with culture and religion and steeped in tradition. A must see for tourists. Don't be shy to smell and taste the great variety of foods.
