We arrived on Friday afternoon at Coastal Cashews for a 3:00 pm pick up for our 3 day stay. The road to Coastal Cashews is really good. So if you can get there, you don't have to worry about having a 4 x 4 to get you through the soft sand and bad roads to the lodge. On arriving, after... More

Just back from an AMAZING 4 day break at Rocktail Camp. We are still pinching ourselves about watching a huge leatherback turtle crawl up the beach at 2am, make a nest, lay 150 eggs and then crawl back to the ocean. We swam alongside wild dolphins, the kids did scuba diving with ragged tooth sharks, we snorkelled with sting rays... More

Rocktail Bay was the perfect destination for our wedding anniversary. The tented rooms are private and spacious. The shower looks out onto unspoilt bush and a little red duiker, if you're lucky. The bed is big and cosy and waking to birdsong is a glorious privilege. The room is a 5 min walk from the dining and pool area along... More

The diving is excellent at Rocktail Bay, probably due to the fact there is limited divers that go there. I first dived there 14 years ago and it is still pristine.

My wife needed to visit Rocktail to do some interior design and refirb work for Wilderness Safaris. We flew my old Cessna down from Johannesburg. 1hr40 min flight. The landing strip is 5 minutes from the lodge, 750m long tarred, and referring to the reviews on AVCOM, safe to leave the Cessna for the night. I was very pleasantly surprised by... More

First, a word of warning: the drive from Jo'burg is longer than it appears on the map and there were major delays occasioned by SA road conditions and road repairs. That, and you definitely will need a 4x4 to reach the camp with your vehicle in one piece. However, once you arrive, it is absolutely a slice of heaven. I... More

Peace, nature, great people(all 8 of them,)great food. Forget your typical beach holiday. No noise , air or evident ground pollution. The world as it was made. Virtually untouched by human hand and very respected by those there now.Great but unfussy service. A natural place with a very relaxed atmosphere. The manager took us diving and had time to chat...
