Just 15 min from Magaliesburg. Beautiful setting looking onto the mountain range. You can have a game drive or an Sunday lunch watching the two elephant. It is lovely spending the day there, even better to stay a few nights.

I planned a surprised proposal at Askari. The lodge provided a unique, relaxing and lasting experience that would linger in our thoughts forever. We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a room with the most amazing view of the calming, untouched nature; a spa treatment that was pleasantly unwinding and the food from the restuarant that was exceptionally well prepared.
My proposal with the Elephants- Damara and Nzewe was magical and undoubtably special; and she said YES!
Special thanks to Amorette- a remarkably talented and warming person. She made the arrangements a breeze and assured me that the experience will be memorable which surely it was!
In general the staff and reception by the team at Askari was exceptional, I cannot fault it at all- my sincere appreciation for making this an unforgettable experience!
We will visit again, maybe if we're lucky we'll even get married there...

Askari is truly is a beautiful, home away from home getaway. The staff are friendly and attentive to guests needs. The grounds are absolutely picturesque.

We stayed in a deluxe chalet, which was spacious. The accommodation is a little dark but comfortable and homey. I would suggest a bit of an update but no complaints.

The dinners and breakfasts were lovely. Soups, palate cleansers and an interesting menu made our meals wonderful.

The spa staff and treatments were equally spectacular. We also managed to do a game drive which was exciting and the ranger knowledgable.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for making our stay wonderful. Angie made us feel at home with her warm nature.

A weekend well spent with the Askari team.

Very good and lots of attention paid to detail. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable.
Attention to finer details would get it to a 5 star.

The views from the top of Nooitgedacht (the highest point in the Magaliesberg Mountan Range) are stunning. In front of you (south) you have the richest Goldfields in the world. Behind you (north) you have the richest Platinum mines in the world. Yet here you stand with both feet firmly in the middle of the Cradle of Humankind!

We were taken to the summit in a Game Drive Vehicle where I led my inaugural Nooitgedacht Battlefield Tour for Australian Clients. After a sumptuous Askari picnic lunch (served complete with crockery and silver!) we walked the battlefield until fetched on the summit at sunset.

The 3-course dinner was delicious and the wine list was comprehensive and showed excellent taste. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable, even having underfloor heating to keep out the winter chills!

Breakfast was proof of the highest standard of food that we came to expect of the Lodge. A tour of the interesting indoor and outdoor Museum was yet another experience for my Clients to write home about.

Just before lunch we took part in the elephant experience and the WiFi was so good that my Clients could share the show "live" with their families in Australia using their cellphones. We only had space for a light lunch but my Clients sent for the Chef to tell him that they had just eaten the best hamburgers of their lives.

I went to Askari for a Game drive and Lunch, here is my experience:

Game Drive
The game drive is without doubt one of the best I've done. The Game park has the Big 5, i did not get to see all of them since they are all free roaming(Apart from the lions). I did the drive with Ian, he was absolutely amazing, patient and went out of his way to explain and entertain us. We went in weekday so it was just the 2 of us in the car.

Lunch
The restaurant is pleasant. The view from outside is great - if you are lucky you can spot animals coming in for a drink at a watering hole. There are monkeys - which gets irritating when you are trying to eat, but hey.
The food itself was not all that amazing considering the price, i had the steak on egg - It was swimming in oil and had no taste.

The staff is very friendly and professional, great facilities and services.
