“Pity that it has become so unsafe”

“Nice views”
Fort overlooking Pretoria, designed to defend against riots and raids on the city, but it is said, “never a shot was fired in anger from this fort.”

Please go in large groups no valuables and no flashy bling. Stay in the group and do not venture on your own. Do not go there outside of hours

The views from the top of fort Klapperkop is amazing and the museum is worth a visit. Unfortunately the area is a bit unsafe with frequent incidents of robbery and assault but it is something they are working on improving. The drive up to the...More

A total disappointment. We could only walk through the dirty and neglected gardens. There were no refreshments available. No toilets open to be used and the all the rubbish bins were full.

I found the fort a little underwhelming. Fantastic view over Pretoria was a bonus but the Fort and museum itself was only average. If you have time and are interested in Boar War history go.

I visit this venue a few times a year and I'm pleased to note that it's improving on each visit. Good historical museum with a lot of factual information. It's usually quiet and I welcome the serenity whilst wandering the grounds.

Over the past few years the area has become quite unsafe at night. The road was also horrible! However recently we went to look at the city lights. The road was brand new and the whole area was better looked after. This made us feel...More

Well worth a visit, for the History and the great vistas. Close to the Voortrekker monument and Groenkloof nature reserve, for a great days outing (and or use your MTB for a cycle tour)
