Wow. What a nice visit! We did not actually visited the house, but did visit the terain. The walking trail and arboretum is beautifully maintained. They actually do a lot of effort with the upkeep. Had a lovely walk with our 15 month old. And it's dog friendly!

My admiration for Smuts increased more and more while walking through the house with the expansive book collection and the interesting facts from the guide. Well worth a visit!

This yet one another museum that is kept in good order by creative means while obviously being starved of funds. I had unusual historical questions for which the curator was called. The Smuts House Museum is definitely worth a visit. It's truly a place filled with interesting history. Jan Smuts was a phenomenal person and did a great deal for South Africa. The house is very well kept and information is readily available - the staff was very informative and helpful. The surrounding area is well maintained and we had an... More

The Smuts House Museum is a wonderful blend of a historic venue, a varied market, a relaxed tea garden and wonderful grounds with the crowning glory of the Oubaas Trail to the top of the Smuts Koppie. Parts of the trail allow dogs to be off their leads, but we found it less stressful to keep our chap on a... More
