One tend to go the monument. This is such an important part of the South African history . The history is set out in every adjoining building / room and very interesting . As it is a bit isolated , I would suggest to go...More
Fascinating insight to the Boer War.

Great view of the surrounding countryside from this elevated position.
Worth visiting if you are also seeing Freedom Park (great!) or the Voortrekker Monument (meh). But there are only a few rooms open and only one staffperson (wearing headphones) when I was there. The displays were printer paper that had been laminated, but nonetheless told...More

This fort from Boer War times has a fairly underwhelming history and museum as it never really saw battle and the museum was mostly being renovated and unseeable. However the view over Pretoria was awesome! There was a wedding taking place later in the day...More
The Fort was one of several built to protect Pretoria. It is very well maintained, clean, safe and a great place to visit and learn. A very nice South African Military Weapons collection is displayed. The area is like a park and beautiful. Highly recommended.
This fort gives an insight of how Pretoria was defended in former years. Visitors can look into different rooms with armour and medical equipment. Nice views over Pretoria. Good to combine with a visit to the Voortrekker Museum.
