Burger's Park was once an extremely relaxing spot, within walking distance from the city but its now so busy with minibus taxi's and vagrants streaming through that I am not sure how safe it is these days

Firstly, I must correct the factual inaccuracy of reviews below that say this park is in Sunnyside and therefore isn’t safe; it isn’t in Sunnyside. My partner grew up in Pretoria and confirms this. Or you could check a map. But anyway, the area around...More

This park is centrally located and accessible to most visitors, including those who do not drive. With the city weather always warm, this park is ideal for picnics all year round.

The lay out of the garden and design of the buildings reminds of an era gone by. Also gone by is the cleanliness of the park. Littering!!!

I love the park, still a little bit room for improvement but in general very good, can almost compare to the company gardens in Cape Town.

Outside and around the corner from The Park Lodge, is the old but still elegant Burgers Park with its ever green slush laws and breath-taking flower beds, trees and park benches. This “mini botanical garden” serves as an out-door “lovers paradise.”
