I thought I was just visiting a building, but it's so much more. The history of the Voortrekkers is explained quite well. It was a nice cultural hour.

Popular tourist attraction. Tall granite monument located in a nature reserve south of Pretoria. For nice views over Pretoria and its surrounds you can climb up to one of the lookout points. Enjoy a nice cup of tee / coffee in the teagarden.

This was an so-so experience. Not really wheelchair friendly. A lot of steps to climb and that is not easy for elderly people.

As an Englishman now living in South Africa always assumed this was a bastion for Afrikaaners,so was amazed and got a Culture shock after waiting 35 years to visit. We took my sister and brother in law who were on holiday from UK,they said what a fantastic place it is,will definitely take visitors again.

Nestled amongst the trees is a treasure trove of popular Afrikaans songs, beautifully presented to read the words some recent and others a playback from way back, lovely lawns and place to just sit and listen to birdsong whilst enjoying the views
