We went there and it was about after 9pm when we left, found all the road lights were off, and lighting in general was extremely poor.and no visible security. We were subsequently robbed by the car guards who threatened to stab us if we did not hand over cell phones. Was about 8 of them. Security was not around until way after the incident and did absolutely nothing. How can you not have proper lighting in place so we can see what is going on around us? Traumatic experience. I Lost my cell phone the previous week and the one taken was a donation from a friend. Prisoners in our own country.

If you looking for Indian spices , food,sweets etc then this is place to go . Parking is tight .Take cash as many places don't have card machines

Great Products at decent prices

Visited the Fordsburg Square flea market on Saturday afternoon. Had a great Chicken Tikka meal. you've got to try the "Malai Boti", which are chicken cubes in tikka sauce, grilled over the braai. That gets served with Naan bread, which is Yumm.

Fordsburg is a nice market for shopping of Indian/Pakistani spices and food. Good place to visit and to enjoy lovely cuisine.

Such a pleasure to shop. Very quaint but has everything under one roof. There should however be one or two atms that should installed. CAPITEC, FNB to name at least two most popular ones.
The food selection is great and also lots of yummy snacks.

Real SA indian experience where west meets east and mingles to a sort of melody. The experience is best at night and the atmosphere is electric. The limited parking and dark back roads leaves a taste of danger and excitement wrapped in a base of nostalgia.

A Flea Market with an Indo-Pakistan Atmosphere.

This market has real atmosphere of a flea market. Mostly, cheap goods with an array of Indian restaurants with sprinkle of well known franchise business such Nando’s, KFC, Wimpy, Chicken Licken, Adega, Calistos and Burger King. There are Shawarma and Turkish restaurants, Romain’s Pizza, Pizza Hut and other pizza places. Food is the highlight but so is Indian and Muslim clothing.

You can also get a cheap but nice haircut. The atmosphere is different and it’s mainly a Indian flea market. It can be busy, not always well kept and an interesting visit if one just wants to have a meal, haircut or a walkabout. Don’t stray too far. Just keep within the precinct of the stalls and shops.
