I took my grandson to the Wondercave for his birthday treat. He was enchanted by it. The guide we had was extremely knowledgeable about the Cradle of Human Kind and very informative on the whole subject. The whole area is rich in history and well worth a visit. There is a good cafe/restaurant to refresh in afterwards.

The cave was nice to explore with the guide, it lasted about an hour and some history regarding the cave was given. There are bathroom facilities as well as food and drink.

This is a bit far out, but can be perfect if planned appropriately with the sites in the Magalies region (plenty to do there!) Well worth it, and stunning caves with amazing stalactites and stalactmites that make incredible photos. Spend a full day in the magalies when visiting here and make the most of the drive out of JHB. These caves and the little museum attached to it are really great. The sense of awe and wonder you feel as you journey deep underground into the past is incredible! The guides are a bit hackneyed but a good effort to employ local knowledge and talent. The precinct is laid out well and is wheel-chair friendly, which is great as... More

Our guide was very informing and enthusiastic. The third largest chamber in SA with some interesting history. Beautifull inside the cave. Loved the visit

It was a bit difficult to find the Wondercave but it was worth it. The cave is located within a game park so one can visit both or just the caves. I was traveling with two seniors and two toddlers. All ages enjoyed the visit. Please note that there are many steep steps to the elevator and uneven ground and... More

If you have any interest at all in the history of mankind, you have to add this to your itinerary. It is visitor-friendly and fascinating. Be prepared to get a bit dirty and remember to wear walking shoes!

Absolutely amazing day the cave tour was fabulous ! Guides are very friendly and well educated about the caves and their history. Very well kept and truly beautiful. Can highly recommend this tour and the sights are too die for. Would not advise it for elderly people or those who have trouble walking as the stairs are very steep. Be... More

Located approx. 40 kms from Sandton is the Lion and Rhino Nature Reserve. Inside this is a limestone cave called the Wonder cave. A 1 hour paid tour takes you inside this cave which is at quite a depth. Amazing scenes of stalactites and stalagmites greets you as you descend in the elevator. A wonderful experience for the kids especially.... More

The wonder cave was awesome! We went down a long flight of stairs and descended into the cave via a rickety old lift. The cave was massive and really cool, and the tour was really informative. I wouldnt recommend if you are extremely claustrophobic, or have trouble walking as the climb back up out of the cave was quite intensive.
