I have eaten here several time during the day, but I am unable to comment about what it is like during the evening. Parking is a bit tight but plenty of places to eat and drink.

Stayed on 4th in Melville for 3 nights. Was very relaxed with plenty of cafes bars and restaurants. Some interesting independant shops and 27 boxes is worth a drop by. Good place to return too each night.

7th Street in Melville, and the surrounds, are charming and the area is full of lovely shops and restaurants. Visitors must be aware that this is a high traffic area for party goers and students, and that always comes with some unsavory elements. Rather take...More

We went to a guesthouse here just to appease our curiosity but the area is a sad reflection of what it once was. It is not somewhere that you would want to go to unless it is for a specific reason. It's probably just a...More

The shops lovely. The beggars who target tourists outside the shops are scary and demanding. I was holding my kids tightly and was uncomfortable.

It used to be a great place but is going downhill fast.Firstly you could get harassed by a drunk or drugged ``car guard'' and as you walk about there is a strong stench of urine and faeces.I will definitely never return,

This is a nice part of Johannesburg with plenty of restaurants and some shops in between the restaurants. It is mainly one large street. If you want to shop, do not expect a large number of shops; there are just handful of shops - don't...More

My husband and I stayed in Melville in a B & B Lucky Bean and we were most satisfied. Even though it is not a hotel, we would highly recommend this B & B. Transportation was easy with tuk tuk to visit around.
