Another of Johannesburg's very well maintained public parks. Go sailing, canoeing or just swimming in the dam lake, take a picnic and settle down under a tree, or just wander around the vast park. There are lots of well laid paths, or you can just wander off as you like and there is plenty of shade on a hot day.... More

I drive past daily and enjoy the view of the tree lined dam, especially in Autumn and Spring. If you live in Johannesburg this is a lovely place for a chilled picnic or to exercise. The kids love feeding the geese here or watch canoes pass by and the rose gardens are beautiful. It is a popular spot for pretty... More

The drought of 2016 spoilt my visit as the water gardens amidst the rose gardens were dry, the grass was almost hay. The refreshments cafe was disappointing.Garden staff didn't seem to know where the cycad garden and alpine gardens were, I never did fine them. In a wetter season things might improve

During my visit I saw several groups enjoying the afternoon on the lawns. Also I could photograph beautiful birds and flowers.

Great for a picnic or to take your dog for a walk. Lots of joggers and cyclist go here. Gardens are well kept.

Great place for a Sunday picnic. Large grass area near the dam to sit and relax. Take shade in summer. Dogs are allowed on the far side of the gardens. Bats, balls and frisbees make the day a lot more fun.

We recently went there for a Sunday afternoon picnic with another family. It was chilled and relaxed - despite quite a few people sitting around in circles looking at their phones - probably Pokemon players.

They have a very large area with a large dam in the middle. Great venue for a band to play at. But also a good place for a pick nik. Lots of dogs to be found here on the weekend, it's really nice place to walk your dog

Johannesburg gardens are beautiful and safe place for walking and jogging lovers. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area compliment walks. Rose gardens and water features are especially lovely in spring and summer.
