The market is unassuming from the entrance. It is located in the Rosebank mall and the entrance to the market is just near the Absa Bank. You walk in to a shop front and then at the back of that area, you then go downstairs...More

when you're in the neighborhood, or when you have time. It's not that special, a busy market with to much of the same market stalls. A few nice things, but I expected more special, unique stuff so I was a little disappointed.

Purposely went to buy African gifts. The downside is having to barter on price. Not comfortable knocking prices down and as a result I found I paid far too much as I got similar items a lot less at the African shops at the Airport....More

There are some bargains to be found but many stalls offer almost identical items. Have a good look around before you buy and don't be afraid of bargaining.

Hi Beth, answers are yes and yes. You will feel quite safe there. Also agree with Michelle to keep your wits about you. Don't allow wallets to be seen etc. Food hall also very good, give it a try.
