Wanted to purchase african gifts for family and friends. We had the Rosebank market recommended to us. It is situated at a large modern shopping mall with good parking. We found a number of stalls with a large variety of curios. The prices are not as good as Green St markets in Cape Town. You need to bargain. All in... More

Jan 3: The Art & Craft market at Rosebank is a must visit to purchase local artefacts. While at the entry, there is a small place, there is an entire basement to explore. Be sure to bargain. The stuff they have is good.

Worth a visit to get genuine local crafts, most often from the actual artist making the crafts. Reasonable prices although best to shop arround and haggle a little.

Wife and I went to the African Crafts Market on a Sunday afternoon. We found the vendors willing to bargain and were not especially aggressive ...as we've experienced in other parts of the world. There were certainly more than a few stalls with mass produced items but there were also authentic gems to be found. The market of on the... More

Nothing really unique or interesting to be honest. Panders more to tourists seeking generic curios of their African dream tour. Far less exciting for locals.

I've been here twice and both times I have bought some handmade masks - but it is a process. The quality and range of goods on offer is excellent - especially if you go downstairs where there are many stalls of sculptures, masks, jewellery etc. There is so many there, it can be hard to choose - but on my... Good selection of craft including clothes, jewellery, and plenty of animal souvenirs. The store owners were not pushy you say just looking.

I was here years ago on a Sunday, and I have to say that if you can choose the day you should go there on a Sunday, because then the two roofdecks are becoming a market as well. Nevertheless during the week there are not so many tourists, what is good as well ;-) Of course there are no price... More

We had been travelling for almost 3 weeks and hadn't had time to do our souvenir shopping. My friend brought us here and it was perfect! Lots of vendors/stalls to choose from. All kinds of crafts- wood, beaded items, Christmas decorations, woven goods, lots of jewelery, bowls, clothing. You will be sure to find what you are looking for her!... More
