We visited Bayworld in 1992 and it was an amazing expierance, we went back in Dec 2016 and what a waste of money. We saw seals, penguins, visited the museum and left feeling dissapointed.

I have never seen such a run down aquarium like this one. The tanks have not been clean for months, you can smell the dirty water - this is not fair on these animals! They deserve a lot more attention! This includes the penguin pools as well as the seal pools. Not acceptable

Just a few seals, penguins and reptiles and lots of fish and snakes. It's an interesting place but it's sad to see the lack of investment, and every where you see notices that state exactly that. They have a good enough museum. They should rethink a few things, as an example they should have a gift shop as another source... More

Aquariums in small towns often disappoint. This was not the case with Bayworld. The exhibitions were informative and pleasing. The complex comprises cultural history as well as a snake park and an oceanarium. The life-size skeleton of a whale gives a new perspective on the magnitude of these animals. Worth a visit especially with kids.

Cheap as chips , but there is a definite need for an overhaul to this establishment. Not quite one thing or another where some investment could make all the difference. Perfect location for this facility but cramped spaces and a plethora of confusing historical rooms/ displays leave you wanting more.

Any live animal for a two year old is amazing, that was probably the only reason we went, penguins and seals for my son to see in real life. Woah, what a sad place to go. Tons of staff everywhere, but horrible "stuck in the 80's" architecture, small enclosure of penguins and seals, then about six tanks of fish with... More

The last time we had visited here (many years ago) it still had the dolphins on show. Well they have long gone and the sea world side has only seals and penguins on show. Seal show (feeding with the 1 seal) was very nice but there just wasn't room to accommodate all the visitors, especially once the trainers moved from... More

This is a very cheap way to spend an hour or so away from the beach. A little rough around the edges but still worth a visit and for the price well worth it

So if you want to visit Bayworld to see an array of fish species, rather stay at home and watch the goldfish and guppies swimming around your fishbowl. The only sea-life worth seeing are dead. That is dead sharks who are cut open as part of a Bayworld presentation for school children. What is more impressive for the hosts of scholars... More

Had a spontaneous weekend in Port Elizabeth and the weather wasn't too pleasant. Therefore my friends and I decided to try bayworld. We were quite surprised at the size. We were expecting to spend an hour or so there but the museum was huge and very educational so spent alot longer there. The animal park wasn't as big but still... More
