Our visit to the museum was informative. Even though it's a "park" most of the "park" is inside the Douglas Mansion. The historical video is well done, and is emceed by a ghost. The exhibits are of the best quality, and easy to understand. This place is well worth the trip, as Jerome is a little out of the way.... More

Go to Jerome, walk around a bit, then go to Jerome State Park ......then go back and walk around again. Very interesting history that you will only find at the Douglas Mansion / Jerome State Park. Be sure and watch the short movie about the town too. Jerome is amazingly beautiful and sad as well. The town and the park... More

Breathtaking View from the top of the town. Worth a drive up the mountain just for the view alone. Great photo stop!

I enjoyed seeing the edge of the pit mine here as well as the Douglas Mansion museum. The museum has several different rooms on geology and local history. My two favorites: 1) the 3-D model of the mines and 2) the old vacuum-cleaning system that used to be part of the mansion. From the museum, there are some panoramic views... More

great video, photos and some artifacts from the mining days, when brute force was required to mine. The home isn't well furnished, but the purpose is to understand the history. $ 7.00/ 13-adults in 2016.

To begin with, the drive there is very scenic. Around every twist in the road is another scenic overlook or interesting rocky outcrop. Once there, the mansion that houses this site is a beautiful sight. Inside you will find many objects of a historical nature from this house in the days when the owner was the Lord of the mining... Before you begin your self-guided tour of the park, go inside and watch the very informative 30 minute video on the history of not only the mining industry, but also the way it impacted the town. Touring the outside gives a view of some of the equipment used in the mines to extract the ore. Inside, you connect with the... More
