This Hisotrical Museum is small but good. We went here first before going to the State Park/Douglas Mansion. This helped us to have a better understanding before going to the State Park. It provides good key information about the town and mining.

After lunch at Grapes we took in the Copper Shop and museum. We reviewed the history of mining in Jerome and viewed the various artifacts and photos of the mining operation and the miners themselves. Who Jerome is named for is explained in the exhibit. What was striking in the miners company photos was the gritty, grim reality of the... More

Pretty good if you like old mining equipment displays and photographs. There's something fascinating about how hard some people worked many years ago. Also something fascinating about how some people lived. Lots of information on the costs of mining to the people and environment.

This previously defunct mining town has been revived by its historical society and today is an interesting collection of restoration, museums, and shops including many artists. The drive from Phoenix is not difficult. Because this is located on top of a mountain, streets and sidewalks are steep and uneven. Buildings have multiple levels accessible by stairs. This is rough terrain... More

Jerome is wonderful. It's a sweet, friendly little counter-culture artist haven with a view and history you won't believe. Great shopping, super food and a view that's staggering. No wonder people keep insisting on living on the side of a mountain that keeps moving. A quirky and unique place well worth the drive--but it's all hills, so if your knees... More

This is a great place to start your day in Jerome. The $2/person admission was well worth it. The museum is small but had a lot of local history jammed in there. It is not just history of the mine which was interesting but information about the town and its inhabitants that we found really fascinating. We probably spent about... More

A great place to start your visit to Jerome... Small but very interesting.. It covered most all of the aspects of the mining town over the years.

If I hadn't read about this museum on TA, I would have walked right past it. My son recently did a report on AZ which included its history of copper mining so we decided to make the stop. We didn't have a lot of time--maybe 20 minutes--but all four of us thought it was interesting. It was time and a... More

$2 to get in. Small but informative. Lots to read but lots of old pics and really gives you a good feel for the history of this lovely little mountain town. Terrific gift shop too! Beautiful views in Jerome. Loved this little town!
