The museum is deceiving because when you first enter it appears the museum is on only one level. The admission is free. Each room has an exhibit about the region. My wife asked about the restrooms and discovered the jail on the way. The jail...More

Excellent historical museum. Details of the violent 19th cent. history of Holbrook. The court moved to more modern quarters and the prisoners to a more modern jail in the 1970's. The original court room, library, clerks rooms, etc. are all interesting. I found a particularly...More

We stayed in the little town of Holbrook and stopped at the museum for a piece of history. What a great little place! It is a self guided tour with a lot of history. The jail cell, which was last used in 1976. There are...More

This was a great place to stop and learn about the history of the area. The museum is a gem. We were happy to see the museum and found it better than most. A recommended stop. It used to be the courthouse. Many informative items.

Lovely, quaint museum with some fantastic old American artefacts. Perfect for a traveling Brit to see what ‘old America’ was like. Some great Indian pieces and really cool ‘cowboy’ and gun slinging stuff. The building itself has the old county jail with preserved historic graffiti,...More

Interesting historic building with quite a few local history exhibits. We found the old jail cells particularly fascinating. Used up until the 1970's, they sport some artistic jailhouse art and graffiti from past residents :)
