I had planned to go to another Fee Dig Site and the owner did not show. In my desperation (I had traveled from Missouri!) I called Rhonda. She dropped everything and arranged to meet me (at the Turqoise-painted shop near mile marker 323 off of...More
I wanted to put an accurate phone number for contacting Dobell- the phone number listed on the website is not correct- and I struggled to make any contact prior to my visit. Rhonda is fabulous!!!! And her granddaughters also helped us gather a bucketful of...More
For good reason you're not allowed to pick up a single piece of Petrified Rock at the National Park. However, right next door at DoBell ranch you can do just that and more. Here the land is privately owned and loaded with 300 Million year...More
What a fantastic place to visit. Not only do you get a sense of how vast this country is, but to see how the petrified wood was formed is awesome. The history that is Dobell Ranch, makes it an even better adventure.
Collected many pieces...More
I could not be more happy with her!!! Rhonda was so kind (almost like I visit with a family member) and she helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Her prices are EXTREMELY good. Whether you're looking for a non overpriced souvenir (yes,...More
This is an awesome place for Petrified Wood!
First, a couple of suggestions to improve your visit to the Dobell Ranch. If possible, call or text your message to Noah at 623-219-6996 to verify that he will be at the ranch when you arrive. The...More
When I visited this place two years ago it was just one operation. Since then Rhonda and Noah have separated and Rhonda is now on the right and Noah on the left as you go up there. We went to Rhonda's side as she had...More
Noah, the owner/operator, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He spent a few hours showing us different pieces, explaining the process it has gone through and how he polishes them. You can't beat the prices of his petrified wood. Definitely a place to stop...More
Had a great time at the Dobell Ranch, got to spend a few hours here digging through some excavated ground and was able to pull out lots of beautiful little pieces and a couple nice size chunks. Noah is a great person and gave me...More
You might try 928-524-3349. That's the phone number listed on Yelp and it's different from the number I have for Noah (who still hasn't sent the rest of the petrified wood he was supposed to have cut and polished EIGHT... More
You might try 928-524-3349. That's the phone number listed on Yelp and it's different from the number I have for Noah (who still hasn't sent the rest of the petrified wood he was supposed to have cut and polished EIGHT months ago! I've had emails from him apologizing for the delays and promising he'd have my slabs in the mail this week (that was early June). Sigh....
I'm not daysaint, but I've been to DoBells. Their dig is just over the hill from Jim Gray's. The reason DoBells' prices are so great is they don't sell their stuff through a huge store, like Jim Gray does. The prices in the... More
I'm not daysaint, but I've been to DoBells. Their dig is just over the hill from Jim Gray's. The reason DoBells' prices are so great is they don't sell their stuff through a huge store, like Jim Gray does. The prices in the store are waaaaaaay over what you'd pay at DoBells, and the clerks could care less about your interest in petrified wood. DoBells is excited and happy to feed your brain.
