Rented a tandem kayak from the marina. Wonderful staff, so friendly and helpful. Had a great time paddling up to emerald cave and beyond. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Gorgeous river and views and great for paddle boarding and kayaking! Our second time coming here and we had a blast!! So peaceful and beautiful! And keep an eye out on the surrounding hills and mountains for some cool wildlife like big horn sheep!

The views are incredible and the staff is very nice. High winds greatly affected our 2 mile paddle upstream & back but we made it. Get there early to avoid lines at Emerald Cave or you can simply enjoy the cold clear green water almost every where you look.

We took a self-guided tour, rented a canoe from Willow Beach Marina grabbed a few beers and snacks from the on-site store and had a memorable fun time. The views are truly breathtaking!! The staff at the marina are top notch - super friendly and informative. If you have time, I would recommend renting a car and driving to the marina from Las Vegas (about an hour drive), the views driving are amazing and can only truly be appreciated in person. Absolutely a must see and do, would love to go again some time. Since the marina is located in a National Park you do have to pay a park entrance fee of $25 per car if you do not have a season pass. Truly worth every penny!!

It was a very placid river. It is beautiful and I felt alone because I was not part of any of tour so I got plenty of solace.

Great way to get on the Colorado River. We rented the canoe's for a full day which was cheaper than going with a guide/tour and only used them half a day. Its not far from the Hoover Dam and it was easy to navigate the river to where the emerald caves were. The customer service was great and there are nice bathrooms, a store and restaurant there.

Worth the 1 hr drive from the Las Vegas trip. Rented 2 Tandem Kayaks for the day. This is an excellent spot for kayaking down to Emerald Cave. So much fun.

Rented 2 paddle boards. The process was extremely easy. Once we arrived, we signed a few docs then loaded onto our boards. To say this place is breath taking, is an understatement. God's country on the Colorado River ❤️

Willow Beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The RV camp ground was also well maintained and we think reasonably priced. You are also very close to Boulder City and Lake Mead.

We camped at the RV park this weekend and were so happy that upon arrival it was SO clean. The entire area is super clean and very well taken care of, including the showers and restrooms.
We rented a boat and it was a great experience. Everyone in the store was helpful and nice, the guys on the dock were super sweet too. (make sure you tip them people.. don't be cheap!) They helped us load and unload our stuff, including our three dogs.
Overall, very nice getaway. We only live in Henderson, but it was nice to go spend time on the water and camp in a super clean relaxing campground.

Is the Ranger booth (where we pay to enter to the river) open 24 hours? If not does anyone know when they leave their post? I have friends coming after work Friday and it's a 3 4 hour drive to willow beach. I'd hate for them not to be able to enter to the river after a long trip.

Hello. Usually the booth is open dawn till dusk. But that road remains open 24 hours a day. So one can enter after hours. There is camping and a rv park at Willow Beach. So those people need to be able to come and go 24/7. If one enters while the booth is closed, you get in for free actually.
Willow beach tent camp site says 6 people, does anyone know how strict they are if there is more people?

Strict about everything it's also insanely hot right now I would not go camping this time of year at Willow Beach it does not cool down.
Is tge current to strong to be in water with small kids? Can you use tow behind tibes if you are boating?

Do the tent camping areas have electric hookups, or just the RV sites?

Unfortunately, I cannot answer that question --- my wife and I only drove there during the daytime once, to enjoy a canoe rental for the day out in the Black Canyon.
Is this place dog friendly for swimming?

Yes! There’s the beach area but there are plenty of other spots to take them in. I use the spot near the entrance. Park by the gate and walk to the water. Short walk. Use leash because hers of mountain goats are close by at times.

When you say hired a boat, what do you mean? Did you rent one or can you pay someone to take you up the river? I only see like 5 seater boats for rent on their website and you need a license to use it, im looking for more of a dingy with a motor, just to take me and 2 other people up the river do they have anything like that?

They rent power boats and pontoon type boats. There is no guides to take you up the river. You can rent Kayaks or Canoes I recommend for the full day to use. If you go on a Sunday or Monday I believe those days no power boats are allowed on water. Kayaking is easy and fun and they supply all the equipment.
Is there any shaded areas for tent camping . i know its hitting 115 degrees

No shade at all!
