Really enjoyed the variety of things we saw. Reminded me of some of the things that I grew up with. We're very pleased with the help we received regarding a specific interest we had. We were given a folder of very interesting information .

This is a typical small town museum with many unique items. Some of the items are furniture made from cactus, collection of saddles, and cowboy hats. Because this town is a prison town there is are some grim exhibits . There is a collection of hanging nooses and the men and one woman who were hung. When this form of... More

Some good unique exhibits about the history of Florence, The building is relatively new, well lighted and clean. The docent adds great background to many of the exhibits. The museum is a valuable compliment to the McFarland State Park museum at the other end of Florence.

Like many small museums there was a sign in book, next to that a self-guide with little factoids about the artifacts. The whole museum is comprised of 3 rooms, 1 holds older artifacts from Native American inhabitants, old typewriters, cactus furniture, etc. our favorite things in this room were the stage coach, old medical machines and the Indian baskets. Another... More

I was directed here by the docent at the McFarland State Historical Site. For a history nut it takes over an hour. I may have been here for two. Nice collection of 19th century firearms, farm implements, etc.

Florence is a prison town, with a lot of history. This museum reviews the history of Florence, with a focus on how the locals, state, and federal prisons have dealt with criminals throughout the years. Facinating!
