We had a great tour of the old copper mine that shut down in 1969 or abouts. We were fitted out with a reflective light sleeveless jacket, donned our miner helmet and was handed a portable light to observe various aspects of a real mine....More

Our guide had a lot of information on what workers experienced working in the mine, how they drilled into the rock, blasted the copper ore, and transported it out. When the guide asks for the name of a small piece of rock, tell him 'Steve'....More

Going into the mine on a "trolley" with an informing guide was a unique experience. We learned a lot and felt what it was really like in a mine shaft and some of its caverns. This was well worth the price. Also, the gift shop...More

We visited with our two kids - ages 7 and 11 and their grandparents. This tour was a blast for everyone! Make sure you wear closed-toed shoes. If you are claustrophobic or highly sensitive to dust this may not be the tour for you. You...More

Make sure you make a reservation, they book up quick. Just enough info, knowledgeable guides (he had worked in the mine for a number of years) and a small mine ride to boot. Definitely recommend.

We very much enjoyed the tour and the information. They made sure we were entertained and safe. The guide had actually worked in the mine and was familiar with the layout and jobs of the mine.

We had this tour and really enjoyed it. It was educational to see how mining was done 50 years ago. We plan to do this tour again in the near future. It's nice outing for out-of-town visitors.

We really enjoyed the tour. It last 1hr and was very informative. You stop a few times and get off of the train, one stop had 36 stairs not that hard and the other stop was on level ground.

This tour was very well done. We really got the feeling of being a miner. We dressed the part. We rode into the mine on a shuttle. Our guide had worked the mine for seven years. Everything was explained thoroughly.

No need for old clothes or shoes, you don't get dirty. Bring a sweatshirt as it's cold in the mines. Make sure you have a reservation, too. Enjoy!

I wouldn't recommend this tour for anyone who is unsure on their feet. The floors are uneven, with loose stoned and rock. There are some steps to climb and descend. It would not be safe or comfortable
