The Lavender pit is just south of Bisbee on Route 80 with a scenic view pulloff where you can stop to look at what is a really enormous hole.in the ground. One's mind just boggles at how much copper has ben removed over the years. At the bottom of the hole is a small lake of extremely contaminated water. The... More

Can only see open pit from top rim behind fence. Pretty astonishing what was done to mine copper and what is left to deal with. Worth the visit.

A view spot just off the street, well worth stopping at. A very large hole, 4,000' wide, 5,000' long and 850' deep. There is also a Veteran's memorial.

The Lavendar Pit is just outside of Bisbee. There is a parking overlook where you can pull over and look at the huge pit and see water in the bottom. There are open little places in the fence to take photos. Very colorful!

Just outside of Bisbee, there is a parking and viewing area right off the highway where you can look down into the 900 ft deep, 300 acre hole in the ground. Stop by for a few minutes and take a look.

The Levander pit is found right outside of the copper mine in Bisbee Arizona It is not something that you can do, but is something that you see Huge mining hole that has wonderful striated colored walls Took numerous photos that turned out great While you are there it is something we're seeing

If you visit Bisbee it's an attraction that you can't miss. You can appreciate the beauty of the different shades of the earth. Unfortunately at the end of the pit you can see a liquid formed by water and chemicals from the mine.

Quite an amazing site after travelling hundreds of miles in undisturbed scenery. Turns out to be a very colorful display.

The Lavender Pit is an interesting little stop about a mile outside of Bisbee. I don't think I would pay to do any tours of it, but it's worth stopping for a picture or two.

This pit is spectacular and amazing. This was where they used to mine copper and is now a very deep canyon that is well worth a visit if you are anywhere near Bisbee.
