I have toured this mine a couple times and have much fun each time. I highly recommend it for families, girl and boy scouts groups, couples, or individuals. You ride a mine train and it takes you thousands of feet underground where the real copper miners worked every day back in the early 70's. It is well worth the $13... More

Worth the time and $13 to take the 1 hour tour. Led by a former miner with a talent for telling the mine stories. Very informative.

Great tour of a really intresting historical mine. Not too long not too short. Lots of great facts and anecdotes. Really great tour guide who thanked us for coming. Spoilt terribly by a very dower girl on the pay in desk and a miserable long haired old guy on the staff. Give it up and go home let someone who... More

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. Guides are well informed, former miners and do a good job. Environment was comfortable. Tour was easy, physically since there was no walking, but one flight of stairs could be a problem for some. Definitely not recommended for very young children. While we waited there was enough to see in the displays... More

Very interesting mine tour and museum. You ride a mini train into the mine which was a lot of fun. You make several stops and get off the train a couple of times to walk to different areas of the mine. Our guide was fantastic and had actually worked in the mine until it was closed down.

The ride inside the mine was interesting and fun, with history and info about what it's like working in a mine. But parents beware: If your child is under four or five years old--ours was 2 yrs and six months--You will be nagged and scolded, if, 1) your child is noisy or at all fussy while listening to the tour... Well worth a visit. You get dressed with vest and lamp. Ride into the mine hundreds of feet. The guide is knowedgable and shares interesting information. The people who help are friendly. The mine temperature is typically in the 50's. Make a reservation. We took the noon tour and it was less crowded than the number of people on the... More

Really cool tour, tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable, got to ride inside of a mountain and see how mines operated in the early twentieth century. Also great for geology buffs to see where geodes naturally form

This tour is great for two reasons: First, you get to see first hand a true piece of American history in one of the most productive mines in the US. Second, and more importantly, the tour guides are all coal miners from 40 years ago, taking you back and giving an oral history of what it was like to be... More

Not for the faint of heart. This mine has a kind of train you ride by straddling the cart and it is pulled underground by a engine driven by the tour guide. It's dark, wet, and has some closed in spaces and some stairs. They provide you with a waterproof jacket (wear something warm underneath even in the summer) and... More
