Major Marine Tours offers two thrilling day cruises into Prince William Sound, and the grandeur of its ever-changing glaciers. Choose between the 5.25 hour Surprise Glacier Cruise and the 4.5 hour Blackstone Glacier Cruise. All trips are hosted by a Chugach National Forest Ranger. At the glaciers you'll often witness calving - a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks of ancient ice. This area is also home to a wide variety of animals including sea lions, seals, sea otters, and mountain goats; as well as an abundance of bird rookeries with many species including eagles and kittywakes. You can enhance your experience with our Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet, freshly prepared on board the vessel. All guests are guaranteed reserved seating inside our heated cabins.

We were a bit worried as we started the tour with very foggy conditions. We headed straight for the black-footed kitiwake rookery where we looked and listened to the birds. We saw a large group leave the rookery on approach and our captain said that...More

It's our first time in Alaska, and the cruise was our first thing to do. It was a rare sunny day at Whittier, and everything looked absolutely gorgeous. We loved watching the glacier craving, getting closer to the falls and simply staring at the ice...More

Hi, We are first time visitors to Alaska and trying to decide between Prince William Sound Surprise Glacier Cruise and Prince William Sound Blackstone Bay Glacier Cruise. Could you help us understand what we would get to see differently for the above cruises. Also wondering what would be there to see in kenai fjords national park other than Glaciers. We are family with 2 adults and 1 kid of age 4 years, We would be staying in Anchorage city, i sit worth enough to drive to kenai fjords national park after taking any of the above cruises? Really appreciate your answer

The tunnel opens one way every hour and you would have to make it by 10:30 or 11:30am. Probably want to get closer than Seward as that would be several hour drive. Worth the effort!
