It is the Dugong Bay, one of the few in the world where you can spot it and where in fact there are many boat trips to try to see it. Seeing it is a great emotion! The trip and the expense will be worth the effort!
But I do not recommend excursions, unless they are by private boat, or where you decide the times, otherwise the so-called safari boats will keep you too little (15 minutes or half an hour maximum and in that time you should also be lucky that the Dugong is there).
The Dugong enters the bay to eat daily on the left side of the bay in front of the iberotel, usually in the morning between 8 and 10 am and in the afternoon between 2 and 4 pm, and there are also many sedentary turtles. Advice or private excursion in which you decide the times and how long to stay, or daily use (day use) in one of the hotels in the bay or stay directly in one of the Hotels.

We reached the site on foot from our hotel at 6:30 a.m. to hope to avoid the crowds. We saw several turtles, the dugong and went around the beautiful reef where we were able to see, among other things, an eagle ray. We did the same thing again at the end of the day with our teenagers and had the chance to see the same thing again in slightly different co-editions (more people).
The site is absolutely not protected and a maddening number of boats and tourists come there every day. Most are respectful.
Others, led by guides who shout and get agitated as soon as they see the poor dugong, approach, want the photo or video that they will publish on the networks... Too bad, he doesn't actually no more for the poor animal to go away.
I don't know how much longer this show will remain accessible, as profit is more important than preserving the environment.
In summary, observe and enjoy your luck if this is the case but never disturb or touch these animals... You are at their home...

Anna Fholle is a professional, empathetic, kind, organizational ability that has been seen from the beginning to the end of the day.
Thank you for the wonderful experience you gave me.
Thanks also to the crew of the Faster for the welcome with sympathy, kindness and organization. Great food and for having had an eye for vegetarians.
You're a good team.
I highly recommend everyone to try this experience, it is really worth it.

Everyone comes for dugong and turtles, but they only stay if the seagrass is protected. Boat tourists must therefore wear a life jacket and not touch the animals. But no one controls the tourists who run into the water from the beach with fins, tearing out all the small seagrass plants. This causes more damage to the bay and animals every year.

With Anna Fholle we spent a crazy day: boat trip with 2 stops during which Anna was our guide during the snorkeling. We saw turtles, dugongs, stonefish, clownfish. Contact her on IG or Facebook if you want to live an authentic experience with a prepared, helpful and passionate person.

Wonderful experience snorkeling in this bay with huge sea turtles.
We reached the beach by taxi and after leaving the few things brought with us to a group of Bedouin women, we dived into the crystal clear waters from the sandy bottom of this bay. About 40 meters from the shore appears the show!!! Countless turtles are found on the seabed eating. Incredible and indispensable experience

We decided to do the snorkeling tour in Marsa Mubarak through MTS and more than regretted our decision. After being picked up at the hotel especially in the morning at 07:10, we were allowed to wait another 90 minutes on the boat after about 90 minutes of driving before it even left. The crew members only told us on request that the reason for this was the Coast Guard’s safety check (we couldn’t verify if it actually was - but it was very annoying).
After finally starting, we went to the first bay. There all had to put on life jackets and we were brought near the shore with an inflatable boat. There was no way to do without the life jackets. Mine smelled extremely bad and I felt very uncomfortable with it. Once in the water, the entire group always had to stay close together. We could actually see the manatee living there as well as two turtles. But already on site we felt sorry for the animals and regretted having taken part in such a trip. The three animals were observed by crowds of tourists. Our boat was not the only thing that had docked there at the time. In addition, some people had no respect for the animals and swam very close to them. Disaster!
After this stop we continued. It didn't really get any better. We were touted an incredibly great coral reef. Again, you had to snorkel in company. Compared to the house reef of our hotel, however, the reef was extremely boring. Yeah, there were some fish there. But all in all also very few and little diversity. Afterwards we finally had lunch at 1:45 p.m. This one, too, was delayed because two divers were traveling much longer than the rest and then all had to wait for these two anyway ... immediately after the meal we could have snorkeled again alone on the same reef as before. We didn't do that. Afterwards we finally went back to the port where we had to wait again until we were allowed to enter.
At 5pm will finally be back at the hotel. The trip ultimately took over an hour longer than MTS had announced.
We would never go on this tour again! And wouldn't recommend it either. Due to the good average ratings, we chose this tour despite the past negative reviews. Please don't make the same mistake as us!

Marsa Mubarak with Speedy (+20 10 6461 9505). If you have not been on a yacht and want to try this type of vacation, you can safely go. Unfortunately, they didn’t speak Russian on the ship, only English. or German (learn languages!!!), it’s good that we read the program and there were Russian speakers who understood English.
For those who do not swim or are afraid of depth, I would not recommend getting into a boat and going to see turtles. You won't take anything away there. We were in the reserve (like all ships in Port Ghalib) at about 10.00. Boats arrive from each vessel in the area where the turtle is located. EVERYONE wants to look and even touch when she beautifully begins to rise from the bottom to take a breath of air. The spectacle is mesmerizing (unless you receive a fin from a boat mate). Yes, there is a turtle(hee) with fish stuck together. I still don’t understand, did I see the same one, or different turtles?????. You must understand that your diver guide simply physically cannot keep track of everyone and pay attention, you must constantly be on alert. One good thing - you are wearing a mandatory vest! But when there is a second stop, you will be taken to the reef (there you can take off your vest for those who wish). But on the reef we saw not only nothing new, but also nothing interesting in terms of fish, only unusual corals (our reef at the hotel is much richer in fish). And then there’s snorkeling for about 1 hour... You can take beautiful photos against the backdrop of the sea, on a yacht, or parked excursion boats. But if you are after turtles and dugans, take your pick... Maybe we're unlucky?

The bay used to be beautiful. Meanwhile, mass tourism brings thousands a week into the habitat of the only (!) Manatee of the nearby area. If the animal dies at some point, I'm curious to see how long this will be kept secret.
It can be magical to encounter the manatee as a single snorkeler at sunrise. Like the turtles, she doesn't appreciate splashing and chasing, and then even takes an interest in swimmers. But woe betide, a group of Egyptian safari guides discover the animal. Screaming and with extra splashing it is driven towards the beach so that it cannot escape into the sea.
As usual here, the youngest and most attractive female guest is encouraged to swim very close if it comes to touching or the manatee gets a fin in the face - be it so. Maybe a tip or a lovescam jumps out of it!
You can really get a hatred of people here. And everyone still feels great about it... Here, an illiterate and poor population, but still endowed with free will, is tempted to spoil the only thing that was really special here for the slightly better off.

Qualcuno sa esattamente cosa è obbligatorio e cosa no? Grazie in anticipo.
