We were on a scuba trip, and stopped here between the morning and afternoon dives. This is a beautiful public beach, and local families can be seen having lunch and playing in the water. There is an open-air small restaurant/diner that serves really delicious hot...More

Perfect place to watch the sunset, get there about 6pm at the moment (December) for the light show. The water is warm and shallow and the views over the lagoon are stunning. White sand, it is sharp in places so if walking the length of...More

A short walk from our hotel (Sofitel Marara), we walked along the beach, in the water (spotting rays and sea shells), the views of the lagoon are great and there is hardly anyone along the white sandy beach. Take your snorkel with you, the coral...More

The beach is not very wide, but is the best one on the island! If you have nothing to do, this is a great place to not do it!

By most standards, this unbelievable beach was almost empty of people. Suited us just fine. We were warned by a local that despite the crime rate being very low, it is still advisable not to leave things unattended on the beach while snorkelling.

There is no public transport, however there will be plenty of Range Rovers near the pier that you can hire. We paid 5$ each way/per person. It's about a 10-15 minute ride, way too far to walk. The beach is stunning! Not very... More

Since you're staying in Matira I suggest stop by the 2 supermarkets in the town of Vaitape ( Super U or Chin Lee). I am sure it will be less expensive versus buying it from the hotel.
