A very beautiful beach with warm shallow water and the ability to walk out quite a ways and explore the reef. Reef shoes are recommended to avoid encountering coral. Nice breezes as well.

Soft white sand, beautiful blue water and maybe a sting ray ore two wandering by. Shuttle busses from Vaitape often at a reasonable fare, $5.00 each way and getting back is not a problem as they were at the beach every 20-30 mins. Great ham...More

I read reviews that this was voted one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. It's really just a small strip of public beach on the southern tip of the main land of Bora Bora. And to be honest not the best beach I...More

Matira Beach offers everything from excellent swimming, decent restaurants and some amazing sunsets in March. If you're here during the first week of November, the Hawaiki Nui, Tahiti's version of the Tour de France (except in 6-man outrigger canoes called Va'a) ends here.

We took a taxi from the cruise ship dock to Matira Beach for the day. Gorgeous beach. Even though it was a cruise ship day, it was not crowded. There isn't a lot of shade so be aware. We were able to find some under...More

This was a great beach to visit, which many of the island tours called at. It cost just $5 to get there from the 'port', which was a pleasant drive giving you a view of local living conditions. There were no sun umbrellas to spoil...More
