This wall is quite amazing. It is mostly intact and well preserved. Many great places for photo opportunities. The history surrounding this city, this wall, is fascinating.

The 13th century walls around Avila are amazing. They are almost fully intact. They are probably best viewed from a distance. You won't find a better set of walls in Spain.

I loved the walls, small city but beautiful . You only need to spend a day in this city. I traveled by train from Madrid, and returned the same day in the afternoon. You don't need to spend the night.

Kidding aside, there is a reason why UNESCO naned this location a heritage site. The walls are amazing and worth the visit. The town feels a bit commercialized with all the hotels and restaurants but who can blame them with such a gem. Must see...More

The views are of the whole surrounding area. Best preserved walls I have found. Easy to imagine spending time as a watch, concerned with an attack from the enemy. The rest of the town is average. Best to combine with a visit to Segovia

Do not miss! We've experienced city walls all across Europe -- none as complete or impressive as those of Avila. In length over 2 1/2 km -- no longer available to walk the entire circuit, but there are ready access points and a variety of...More

Parking is limited and divided into zones in Avila. There's parking outside and inside the walls. The maximum stay in the metered spots is 2 hours. If you read Spanish, you can look at the informative brochure with map on... More
