It costs 5 Euros to walk the walls (3.50 if a junior or senior) and it affords some super views both of the city and the surrounding area. You get an audio tour with the cost of entry which gives some interesting information about the...More

These walls certainly are an awesome, beautiful sight. To complete walking around the open portion is a lot of walking and the stairs up some of the towers are narrow and steep. The views from the towers are lovely but one would not need to...More

Beautiful walls around the entire city, but you need to pay to walk on. To be compared with Carcassonne in France.

Very nice and well conserved wall. 2.5km. You can walk about 1.5km, but the best view you get from the outside.

Second time for us visiting this wonderful city, so peaceful and historic/culture interested, great gastronomy and fun at night too.

A well preserved means of exploring the historical city walls. It will be a fantastic experience when they have completed the final portion so you can walk all the way around

Always the best thing to do in Avila is to walk the walls. Great views from all of the different sides. I've probably taken a dozen photos of things from up there each time we go. Brings to back centuries.

The walls of Avila are stunning and it's definitely worth the several euro cost to go up and explore them!
