A very small museum as it's part of the Clock Tower, History Museum for only 24 Lei per person. But it's gruesome with the hangman's noose, chopping block and executioner's sword, the various iron and steel contraptions for breaking hands, fingers and legs. All in...More

We enjoyed a visit to Sighisoara Torture Museum. It's quite small but definitely unique! Lots of dark rooms, dungeons and grisly instruments of torture! Spiky chairs, mace, racks and stuff you'd hardly believe people were capable of imagining. I'm surprised at the mixed reviews here...More

Models show how the torture tools were used. It is amazing how they have managed to amass all the torture tools.

There isn't much to see in there. Some torture devices that are not well kept or preserved. The writings about the devices on the other hand are nice.

Just one room with a rack in it in and a couple of smaller displays. Keep the few Lei for a coffee or something, maybe set fire to the notes, much more fun. Wondered if the torture was for the visitors. Struggle to understand the...More
