Founded, as the city that we can see today, in 12-th century by German craftsmen and merchants known as “the Saxons of Transylvania”, Sighişoara is an example of a small, fortified medieval town whit an important strategic and commercial role in central Europe for several centuries and has been a part of the UNESCO world heritage from 1999. The atmospher... More

Very nice place, quite authentic and beautiful but there is nothing to do, literally nothing to do. The time needed to see the entire town is around one hour

The Historic center is a wonderful and special place to visit in any day of the year. The architecture and the colors of the buildings are fabulous and unique. I recommend taking a walk and don't forget your photo camera!

It's a well preserved historical site. Every corner is so peaceful and quiet, and makes you feel like going back to the medieval time. It's a pity that everything was closed on Dec-25 so we didn't get to see the insides, but the overall atmosphere was still amazing.

A wonderful, well preserved example of medieval Europe! We entered up the old hill which made this even more spectacular, although entering through the new town would be easier for anyone with mobility issues as the hill is steep. Traditional bean soups were expensive but worth it as they were delicious and served in a bread bowl.

This is a must see city. Medieval, full of history and with Dracula as part of the story... the other part is played by the fantastic people who welcome you with open arms, with amazing traditional foods and with plenty of good surprises! Go, Explore & Enjoy !

We took a 2 and a half hour train ride from Brasov to Sighisoara. The ride itself was a treat.. Beautiful views along the way. The town itself though, felt abandoned. Perhaps it was because we got there quite early and it was a Sunday morning. The buildings were fantastic.. it was like stepping back in time. All the sights... More

It broke my heart to see that the old town of Sighisoara is DEAD. I was thinking of other historical towns in Germany or Western Europe, how busy and crowded they must be in December, and here I was in Sighisoara, taking photos of a ghost town. Really sad and depressing.

The old city is in fair condition, it need more improvement especially for the rock pieces in the street. Some of the rock is missing and make it difficult for people with stroller to go around the old city. Overall the buildings in the area are well preserved, and act as a silent witness of history and it also offers... More
