The mechanics of this waterfall are fairly simple. Like all the others, the water is subject to gravity so it falls down the rocks and ends up in a pool at the bottom.

This seems to surprise many people so it's quite busy with people recording the action.

I've given the waterfalls four stars (circles? donuts?) but I'd happily give five if the water did something weird like go upwards instead.

Without doubt, most people will find the Silver Waterfall pleasant with its high cascading drop, wide water veil & its setting in amongst a lush valley. Did i mention its emerald waters that are stunning? As a waterfall, its cascade is not the most spectacular example but waterfalls somehow captivate people into silent admiration nonetheless. There is very little shade for visitors to sit around & enjoy the cascade & may lose your interest very quickly in the midday sun.

It is not Vietnam unless there is something spoiling the scene & here it is the intrusive souvenir shacks selling silly things you can get everywhere else off anyone around. It seems the Silver Waterfall of Sapa is fast becoming a second-rate attraction that is only worth a 15min stop.

The Silver Waterfall features on many tour itineraries, so at times it sees traffic for what was once a quiet relaxing place for the mountain people. My pasty skin & bad tan lines most likely shocked many people as i dipped into the cool water for a swim, this seemed to frustrate men trying to take photos of themselves. It’s a shame people these days find no interest in swimming at a waterfall & prefer to take photos & leave quickly thereafter, these are strange times we live in….btw, the water was crystal clear, felt crisp & left a great feeling on my skin for the rest of the day. Funny how people pay big money for skin products to feel like that.

Located a few kms from Sapa just 100 metres walk from the main highway it has an entrance fee at 20,000 VND ($1.00 US). The Silver Waterfall can be visited in less than 1 day by hiring a scooter in town along with nearby Love Waterfall, hidden away in a more tranquil setting & the Tram Ton Pass, the highest road in SE Asia, all 3 of which are within 5kms of each other.

We organised a taxi from Sapa and the driver stayed with us. 450k for the few hours it took. We drove to Silver waterfall as a first stop. 80k entrance fee. Steep walk up to a nice waterfall. Then we drove to Heavens gate and stood on the lookouts above the various cafe's on the edge of the mountain. It's an experience. Return trip we stopped at Quo Ho pass which is 2035m. Great views and an easy fun trip which doesnt cost a lot and easily handled by kids.

Spectacular waterfall within easy reach. The waterfall has many sections and it was a good climb up but worth it. They built nice steps both up and down and you can have very good views of the cascading waterfall at every section. The waterfall was bigger than many others that I've visited in other countries. Definitely worth a visit but try to choose a non-peak hour to avoid the crowds. There's also a salmon restaurant opposite the fall with a nice garden where you can catch a good view of the fall and take pictures with the flowers.

The silver waterfall is nothing really special. You walk up the ladders, do a picture and ask yourself .. was it worth the effort. For me no, it is a simple waterfall that is fully encapsulated into a ladder and steps system and you cannot even see it undisturbed. Go for the love waterfall, which is much nicer.

A fine waterfall with an excellent view, yet the path is a bit narrow and the steps are high a bit hard to claim

Coming from NZ, waterfalls have to be pretty good to impress me! I was surprised by this waterfall however, as it was quite nice - except for the number of people visiting on the particular day of our visit! It was packed - over crowded and loud due to a national holiday in Vietnam. The number of people spoiled it for me, but it was good for a short visit.

Visited this so-called waterfall in winter in December last year. Did not realise it is a waterfall until the guide told me. There was not enough water for the water to fall below. So, please do not visit this place in winter.

Came here at March 2014 on Spring and the waterfall was less of water, maybe it will beautiful on wet season. Its 12 km from Sapa town. I came here by motorbike, it takes 30-45 minutes from Sapa town....easy to find...just follow the sign of "T-Bach". Admission fee VND10.000 for adult and VND5.000 for child, parking fee VND10.000. Before reach the waterfall you need to do some "exercise" by climbing-up many stairs.
