Would personally not recommend Sa Pa at all. The town square is filled at night with very young children (from ages 1 and above) who are left by themselves to sell trinkets and dance for tourists, and it's very upsetting to see as they're often crying and left alone until midnight. It's also disturbing as the little girls are often picked up and held by men for pictures. It's also a complete tourist trap, much more expensive then anywhere else we visited (try to only go to places with prices on the menus as we were continually ripped off for food here). Avoid, there are other towns nearby which are just as beautiful if you're after hiking.

It's so crowd in weekend and holiday. Because it has an extremely prime location in the center of Sa Pa town, right opposite the Stone Church. This place is always bustling and noisy day and night.

The square is like an activity centre of the town. We found it lively all the time. Families with kids- locals and tourists.People just sitting quietly and enjoying. Kids playing around. Locals selling their wares. One evening, there was Karaoke , singing and dancing.
In the early evenings , you would find boys and men playing footington, a very interesting sport played like badminton but with foot and other parts of body without using hands. Instead of a shuttlecock, they use an empty bottle cut into half.
The area has been landscaped well with good horticulture.
Every time we crossed that area to go to surrounding roads and markets, we would stop by to revel in the lively atmosphere.

The cathedral is right there and it is also a sort of station/ stop for electric cars that take you around town.

So many locals and tourists here. Some local shows and many little H’ mong boys and girls showed their skills by dancing. Not so special but central location and fun place

Main square in Sapa mountains village. Nothing exceptional is there besides the entry point for Fansipan cable car station.

Boys playing soccer ⚽️ on the pitch. Strange place in the middle of city. It looks like whole and totally boring. Very practical as you do not need to take care about it. All stony

In our 2 nights stay in Sapa, there were nightly ethnic concerts held at the square centre ( celebrating Independence Day, etc). Very crowded in & around the square vicinity - lots of activities with street sellers hawking goods, etc. Nice atmosphere to soak in.

Nice at night! Many vendors from nearby village to sell cloths, accessories, food and many more. Weekend is the best time to visit this place
