A beginner here. The staff overall is friendly except one instructor. He seems to be interested in talking to and smiling with foreigners only. The senior most guy Mr Mani is a nice and polite gentleman. It is because of Mr Mani that I will think of going to them again but will not surf with my earlier instructor again. pretty bored staff. Not much of intrest to either rent boards or have a chat. But. Not much of an option while in Kovalam. There is a Guy renting boards on the beach aswell. Whatever you do, bring your own board. Kovalam Lighthouse Beach is best option for surf in south India. Much better than Varkala at least …

We rented boards 3 times from here, the staff are super friendly and the rates for renting surf boards, boogies boards are so cheap. Each board comes with a rash best if you need one.

i took 3 lessons in two days with the kovalam surf club and really enjoyed myself. i’m a complete beginner and the instructors were both patient and helpful! the surf club is tucked inside an alley, but i would recommend it to anyone wanting to surf in Kovalam! the waves at Lighthouse beach were awesome, too. …
