this place is located 39KM from the trivandrum. it is ideal for half-day trip. there is many attractions in this area such as dam, wild life sanctuary , and aquarium as well. it recommended to visit

It doesn't seem artificial at all - the Neyyar Lake caused by this dam is beautiful although we were there when the water was really low. Make sure you visit the Elephant Rehabilitation centre nearby and check the ashram in the neigbourhood.

The best part of visiting Neyyar Dam is boating in the reservoir. I would visit this place again to get that wind on my face during the boat ride. I would suggest to pack your lunch and go as there are no or limited options for food.

The dam is located at about 40kms from Trivandrum city. This is best suited for a half day trip over the weekend. You can walk and see the surroundings(park, dam and lake). They do provide for boating in the lake. There is another package available for INR 250 per person which includes safari to lion park and to another place... More

Nice place really like the visit there for just sight seeing purpose notnfor safari because we already have information that there is nothing like wildlife safari.

We were staying in the area and we enjoyed a long walk to Neyyar Dam one afternoon. It's an impressive structure and very cheap to get into and walk across, and a nice way to pass a few hours. The DAM , lion park , boating , crocodile park are awesome. Its around 1-1.5 hour journey from trivandram bus station to neyyar . You will get ksrtc buses from thambanur regularly. The dam is okay, but if you are looking to see the sanctuaries - be clear: there are none - a couple of lions, a handful of crocodiles, and maybe two dozen dear - all in their zoo-like cages. Neyyar Dam is a gravity dam on the Neyyar River in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala ,Neyyar Dam is home to the beautiful and peaceful Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwanthari Ashram neyar wildlife sanctuary is nearby

Around 30km from Thiruvananthapuram city. Dam and boat service avilable except on Mondays. Lions park is very interesting for kids. parking space available. Food quality is not that much good.
