This place is good to go, but it’s 75% old and 25% kind remodeled. It ok as it put old pictures/photos on the wall that you can “image” it.

The attraction way exceeded my expectations. Having been to many former residences of important figures, I was amazed at how beautifully preserved this establishment was. The villa had many original artifacts and was a great walk. Plan about 90 mins here. It might be worth asking for a tour guide for 60 RMB if you are really interested in Chinese history. This is my favorite attraction in the whole of China.

We spent about 2 hours at the former residence of Puyi. Automated headsets in English were provided. Each unique room explained some of the fascinating history. There is also a short video explaining the amazing life of Puyi, his wife & concubine.
The restoration work done on the site is very impressive, so many original features have been saved. I would highly recommend a visit to Emperor Puyi's last residence.

If you're interested in Chinese history it's well worth a visit. It will inspire you to read up more about the Emperor and his life and also about what was happening in China at the time.

This is the living place of Puyi- the last emperor of Qing Dynasty, but after he left here, this place was occupied by different parties so most of the areas were destroyed as time went by, until the government decided to retake it and made some refreshment. The admission fee is RMB20, but this place is too small, if you don't like the history too much, it's not worthy of visiting.

We went here as part of our day tour to Tianjin from Beijing.

The whole story was very interesting. The house was really nice to see. Worth a walk around

There is a coffee shop so that you can grab a drink or a small bite to eat before heading out for more sightseeing.

My wife is a big fan of Bertolucci's "The Last Emperor" and really wanted to visit this site where Puyi lived for several years after he was deposed. And she was glad she did. The city has done a very nice job of restoring the home and making some interesting exhibits about Puyi's time in Tianjin. But it all has a central government political slant so read their version of his story with that in mind. Some exhibits have good English translations but a number do not.

My main interest are construction. This museum is a refurbished former residence but in contrast to usually overdone renovation, here it was done in an decent way, illustrated by before-after pictures. I loved visiting this place due to the variety of exhibits and information. Also the movie/documentation about the Tianjin life of Puyi provided new information (English subtitles). Really worth visiting! After the visit you can stroll through the neighborhood, many great adventures are waiting for you!
